Racing Incident Report
Race Nine: (601) - CORNFLOWER HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters
AQUILA was crowded for room on jumping between EXPLOSIVE WITNESS and SPECIAL STARS which shifted out.
JUMBO ENGINE began only fairly and then shortly after the start became unbalanced after being bumped by KING'S EMINENCE which shifted out.
After this, JUMBO ENGINE was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
From the outside barriers, WON BALL and CALIFORNIA ARCHER were also shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
EXPLOSIVE WITNESS got its head up and travelled keenly after the 700 Metres.
AQUILA made the turn after the 600 Metres awkwardly.
In the early part of the Straight, CLASSIC UNICORN got its head on the side and lay out under pressure.
Throughout the race, ALLIED AGILITY travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of AQUILA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
ALLIED AGILITY and LARSON were sent for sampling.

Allied Agility just got up in the final strides down the far outside after a deep run without cover near the speed for a third victory and first at the Valley this season. Favourite Larson was just denied after working to a narrow lead 100m out working hard early on to occupy second without cover being the late-fancied Classic Unicorn. Explosive Witness ran on well from midfield to finish a clear-cut third. He's building towards a win in his past three starts following a break and might be crying out for a longer trip. Classic Unicorn was stopping 100m out after being hustled along to lead from gate one. It wasn't a bad run in his first start. Special Stars ran on without menacing from behind midfield. He's well rated after winning in November over this trip off a higher mark but has had a lot of racing. Jumbo Engine made some ground without menacing after making his run second from the rear. He's shown hints of ability in his four starts.
