Hong Kong is a centre for innovation and technology in Asia. This gives the city key perspectives on new developments, which can create a smarter future and a better quality of life for people here and around the world. A focus on innovation and technology can also inspire young minds by sparking their imaginations and teaching new skills and know-how.

To help aspiring writers in Hong Kong learn more about these important areas, we are now inviting students at local schools to sign up for the Sino Junior Reporter Programme 2021.

Organised by Sino Group and supported by SCMP Young Post, the programme will shine a spotlight on the impact technology has had and what it can do for us. Participants will hear about recent inventions at the Sino Inno Lab and will have the chance to meet and interview executives of Sino Group. Before that, they will learn about the skills and techniques needed to conduct an interview and write interesting and informative news stories in English. By taking part, students will receive invaluable guidance and advice from a seasoned SCMP journalist and add to their list of personal achievements.

Eligibility: Hong Kong Local Secondary School Form Four to Form Six students

Registration: Submit an article of up to 200 words, along with a related photo, sharing your thoughts about some aspect of innovation and technology to [email protected] or submit online at https://yp.scmp.com/sinoreporter.

Enrolment deadline: Wednesday, 15 December 2021
