Race Eight : (92) - POTTINGER HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 REWARD SMILE (H256) H Bowman From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the event, H Bowman stated that his mount did not travel as strongly as it did on 11 September 2024.
He said although REWARD SMILE had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres when positioned to the inside of PARTERRE, it was still disappointing.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 EQUATORIAL (J128) A Badel Jumped very awkwardly and lost ground.
Horse No 4 HAPPY FAT CAT (G166) E C W Wong Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 5 SUPER JOY N FUN (J164) C L Chau In the middle stages raced keenly.
In the Home Straight lay in, resulting in its rider C L Chau having to correct his mount leaving the 200 Metres.
Horse No 7 SOVEREIGN FUND (J402) K De Melo Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Horse No 8 PARTERRE (E234) A Atzeni Shifted out on jumping and was heavily bumped.
Horse No 10 SCOTCH TYCOON (G088) L Hewitson On jumping was bumped heavily by PARTERRE which shifted out.

Favourite Chateauneuf won going away near the 100m marker after a box-seat run for a second win from seven starts. He relished the lightweight in a higher grade after a near win last month and can head higher. Scotch Tycoon found one too good after skipping clear by two lengths in the straight from gate three. He acquitted himself well up in grade off a light weight following a win. Wings Of War charged home late for third after a wide trip with cover travelling towards the rear. He continues to race well after joining the Douglas Whyte stable. Righteous Arion dashed late to just snatch fourth from Golden Empire after making his run two from the rear. He continues to run well without saluting in this grade. Golden Empire just lost out on fourth prize money after settling one the rail behind midfield. He's getting close to finding a rating bottom. Sensationally backed Super Joy N Fun just held his ground after settling wide with cover in midfield from gate 12. He had an excuse. Reward Smile ran on without ever looking a threat along the inside after fading back at the jump from gate 10.
