Recap by phillip woo

Dragon Delight reeled in Kasa Papa close to home for the win after tracking the slow early pace of Yeaboi from a tricky gate. He relished a return to the course of distance of his only previous win following an encouraging third last month at Sha Tin. Kasa Papa found one just too good after circling the field to lead 650m out. He should be able to erase his maiden status soon if he remains in this grade. Right Honourable came from last with two wider out to fill a placing. The 10-year-old has given a good sight to place in two of his three starts this term and can breakthrough shortly. Yeaboi weakened to just hold favourite Go Go Go for fourth after setting slow fractions for the first half of the race. He has given a decent sight in both starts this term. Go Go Go only plodded after a one-out, one-back run. He couldn't build on a win and second from his first two starts this season. Running Ahead faded after a box-seat run. It was a disappointing run after flashing home late for fourth first up this season. Tattenham struggled after recovering from an awkward start to travel midfield on the fence.

Racing Incident Report

Race One : (85) - LI YUEN HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1650Meters

Horse No 1 GO GO GO (H196) Z Purton After the event, Z Purton could offer no explanation for his mount finishing the race off in a one-paced manner.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 KASA PAPA (G312) H Bowman Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 MISTER FOX (J059) B Avdulla When questioned, B Avdulla stated that from the outside barrier he was instructed to ride his mount conservatively in the early stages to allow it the opportunity to finish the race off.

He said throughout the event whilst he was aware that the pace was slow and being run outside of standard time and his mount was over-racing, he was reluctant to allow MISTER FOX to stride forward from the 800 Metres when KASA PAPA started a forward move as this would be contrary to his instructions.

He added after KASA PAPA obtained the lead in the Back Straight and the pace of the event quickened, MISTER FOX settled better but was still disappointing in its failure to run on in the Home Straight.

Trainer D J Hall confirmed that the instructions were to ride MISTER FOX back in the field from its outside barrier.

He said given that MISTER FOX had been racing out of form, he had instructed B Avdulla to provide the horse with every opportunity to finish the race off strongly and therefore was satisfied with the tactics adopted by Jockey Avdulla in not going forward in the middle stages of the event.

Horse No 4 TATTENHAM (H121) K Teetan Was fractious in the starting gates as the start was effected, then reared and lost ground.

Having regard to TATTENHAM's previous unacceptable barrier history, the horse will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial before being allowed to race again.

After the event, K Teetan reported that although his mount jumped awkwardly and lost ground, he was able to obtain a midfield position where he had anticipated settling.

He said TATTENHAM was disadvantaged by the pace of the event being run outside of standard time in the early stages which made it difficult to make up any ground in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 5 DRAGON DELIGHT (G395) E C W Wong Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 RUNNING AHEAD (G313) C L Chau After the event, C L Chau reported that his mount was disadvantaged by the slow early pace of the event and found it difficult to quicken when the pace increased from the 600 Metres.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 7 RIGHT HONOURABLE (A164) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
