Recap by phillip woo

Veteran Arthur's Kingdom led from gate eight and never looked back, making it three wins from his past four starts with a first success over the Valley 1,800m. The well-backed Fruity Warrior kept on nicely to finish a clear-cut second after a box-seat run. He should be able to break through for a first win shortly. Right Honourable ran on nicely for third after making his run one from the rear. It was an improved effort second up over a longer trip. After a rails run behind midfield, favourite Joyful Prosperity got going late for fourth without threatening the top three. He is now a 19-run maiden and is not one to take at short odds. Kyrus Unicorn ran on steadily to finish next best after a one-off trip travelling worse than midfield. It was a shade better effort with a run already under his belt. Sunny Baby just plodded when asked for an effort after a handy run. It was a disappointing effort after nearly winning on opening day over 1,600m. Kingly Demeanor had his chance after travelling midfield on the fence from a wide draw but kept on rather one paced when push came to shove.

Racing Incident Report

Race One : (47) - WAN CHAI HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1800Meters

Horse No 1 JOYFUL PROSPERITY (H213) H Bowman Approaching the 500 Metres was momentarily crowded by KYRUS UNICORN which lay in before being corrected by its rider.

When questioned, H Bowman stated that approaching the finish of the event he became unbalanced in the saddle as he was pushing his mount out.

He said as a result he was unable to fully test JOYFUL PROSPERITY to the finish of the event.

Whilst the Stewards recognized the explanation that H Bowman had provided, he was advised, wherever possible, he should fully test his mounts to the finish of the event.

When questioned regarding the performance, H Bowman reported that his mount travelled reasonably well during the event.

He added that near the 500 Metres after being crowded by KYRUS UNICORN, his mount lost momentum and then took some time to respond to his riding in the Home Straight before finishing the race off only fairly.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Sent for sampling post-race.
