Racing Incident Report
Race Five : (755) - KAU SAI CHAU HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 AWESOME TREASURE (E435) E C W Wong After the race, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his instructions were to lead.
He said despite riding his mount along in the early stages, he was unable to cross runners to his inside and as a consequence he elected to obtain a position with cover behind SPICY KNUCKLES.
He added AWESOME TREASURE travelled satisfactorily in this position and after making contact with CAPTAIN WIN after the 450 Metres when he shifted out to improve, AWESOME TREASURE failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
The performance of AWESOME TREASURE was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.
Before being allowed to race again, AWESOME TREASURE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 NEBRASKAN (J304) Z Purton Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 CAPTAIN WIN (E466) K Teetan After the 450 Metres was bumped and taken wider by AWESOME TREASURE which shifted out.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 DRAGON FOUR SEAS (J317) K C Leung Bumped shortly after the start.
Horse No 5 FAMILY JEWEL (J390) M L Yeung Crowded on jumping between NEBRASKAN and FUN N FUN TOGETHER which shifted out.
Approaching the 400 Metres was shifted to the inside of AWESOME TREASURE to continue into clear running.
Horse No 6 FUN N FUN TOGETHER (J232) C Y Ho Shifted out at the start, was bumped and became unbalanced.
Horse No 7 SPICY KNUCKLES (H463) M F Poon A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 SUPER LEGENDS (H364) H Bowman Shortly after the start was bumped when it shifted in.
After the race, H Bowman reported that his mount made an abnormal respiratory noise during the running of the event.

Horse No 9 VIEW OF THE WORLD (J348) A Badel From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 10 BALLISTIC WIN (J040) B Thompson Shortly after the start was crowded by AWESOME TREASURE which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.

Horse No 11 PACKING BRILLIANT (H421) A Atzeni Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Horse No 12 SHINKANSEN (H277) K De Melo On arrival at the Start, the tongue tie applied to SHINKANSEN was refitted.
From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Captain Win just held off the fast-finishing Ballistic Win after surging to the lead 50m out following a one-off trip from midfield for a second win from 32 starts. He relished the downgrade. Ballistic Win ran on nicely with one wider out to make it close on the wire after a patient ride two from the rear. He was able to build on a closing fourth last start and a win is around the corner. Well-backed Fun N Fun Together grudgingly gave way after going for home on top 650m out following a pace-prompting run along the fence. He is heading in the right direction. Family Jewel made a nice bid late for fourth after a rail run from behind midfield. It was an encouraging debut effort. Super Legends made a steady bid late for fifth after biding his time four from the rear. It was a typical effort. View of The World made a decent bid late after settling last from gate 11. It was a positive debut effort. Dragon For Seas gradually faded after a handy run. Favourite Awesome Treasure came up empty when asked for an effort in the straight drive after slotting one-out, one-back from gate 10. He might not have liked the wet going.
