Race Four : (735) - POK FU LAM PUBLIC RIDING SCHOOL HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 THE WINNABE (J251) H Bowman Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 SCOTCH TYCOON (G088) L Ferraris After the 450 Metres was shifted to the outside of VANTASTIC CHOICE to obtain clear running and made contact with GIANT LEAP.
Horse No 4 SUPER HIGHWAY (G050) C Y Ho Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 5 WOOD ON FIRE (C460) K Teetan Approaching the 1000 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied to avoid VANTASTIC CHOICE when being crossed by that runner.
For some distance in the middle stages lay out when positioned close to GIANT LEAP.
Near the 400 Metres was brushed by THE WINNABE which shifted out to improve.
Horse No 6 JOYFUL SUPREME (H372) E C W Wong Approaching the 900 Metres improved to the inside of THE WINNABE which was laying in.
A short distance later, JOYFUL SUPREME became unbalanced when crowded by THE WINNABE which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
After this incident, JOYFUL SUPREME then raced keenly for some distance thereafter.
Horse No 7 MR ENERGIA (J239) H Bentley Jumped only fairly.
Near the 850 Metres was steadied when crowded between SUPER HIGHWAY and JOYFUL SUPREME which shifted out.
Horse No 8 VANTASTIC CHOICE (G401) M F Poon Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 GIANT LEAP (J143) A Hamelin Bumped after the 450 Metres.
Horse No 10 WINNING HEART (H065) B Avdulla A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 CERVIN (H253) M L Yeung Jumped only fairly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Short-priced favourite The Winnabe responded nicely when asked for an effort to reel in long-time leader Vantastic Choice and remain unbeaten in two starts. He will be in Class Three next time out. Vantastic Choice was given every chance in front from gate 12 but found one better on the day. Scotch Tycoon kept plugging away to finish a distant third after a box-seat run. It was his best effort. Giant Leap gradually faded to just finish out of the placings after stalking the pace from gate 11. He has gone OK in two of four starts but is still a work in progress. Punted late, Mr Energia made some ground late after settling one off the rail behind midfield. It was an improved effort at this third career start. Cervin ran on without threatening along the inside from the rear of the field. It was an improved effort at his fifth start. Super Highway just plodded after a wide trip from behind midfield. He had an excuse. Wood On Fire weakened after settling one off the rail. He prefers the Valley.
