Race Three : (734) - TUEN MUN PUBLIC RIDING SCHOOL HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters
Horse No 2 BABY CRYSTAL (H081) E C W Wong Apprentice E C W Wong was fined the sum of $2,000 for failing to present himself in the Parade Ring by the required time.
Apprentice Wong pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 150 Metres (see FAST RESPONDER).
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 FAST RESPONDER (J295) Y L Chung Apprentice E C W Wong (BABY CRYSTAL) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 950 Metres he allowed his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of FAST RESPONDER, resulting in FAST RESPONDER having to be checked to avoid the heels of BABY CRYSTAL.
Apprentice Wong was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Monday, 1 July 2024 and to expire on Sunday, 7 July 2024 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays).
In addition, Apprentice Wong was fined $40,000.
In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very poor race riding record.
Horse No 4 PLEASANT ENDEAVOR (E114) K C Leung Over the concluding stages raced tight when improving between FLYING HIGH and KA YING VICTORY.
Horse No 6 BRAVE STAR (G268) A Atzeni Bumped shortly after the start.
Over the final 200 Metres lay out.
Horse No 7 KA YING VICTORY (H287) A Badel Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 ACE VICTORY (H076) K Teetan Bumped shortly after the start.
Horse No 9 SUPER LOVE DRAGON (J038) K De Melo Jumped awkwardly.
For a short distance near the 350 Metres was held up for clear running behind ACE VICTORY.
Horse No 10 VIVA GRACIOUSNESS (J079) C Y Ho Jumped only fairly.
C Y Ho was fined the sum of $2,000 for failing to present himself in the Parade Ring by the required time.

Favourite Ka Ying Victory just wore down Baby Crystal after chasing his main rival in the centre of the track to remain perfect in three starts over the straight 1,000m. Baby Crystal found one too good after quickly clearing to the lead on the stand side from gate one. It was another fine effort over the straight 1,000m but he once again found Ka Ying Victory too good in back-to-back runs. Flying High ran on well on the grandstand side to just grab third after biding his time two from the rear. He is always a chance over the straight 1,000m. We Are Hero ran on steadily late to just miss a placing near the far side after making his run towards the rear. He should find his mark shortly in this grade. Brave Star stayed on reasonably well after a handy run to just miss the frame. It was a positive effort at his first go over the straight 1,000m. Pleasant Endeavour didn't disgrace to finish next best but did have his chance after a midfield run on the stand side. Ace Victory weakened after prompting the pace from a low draw.
