Recap by phillip woo

Firming favourite Northern Beast took control 100m out after enjoying a perfect trip in transit fourth on the fence for a second win and first in this grade from his past four starts. He relished a return to the Valley 1,650m. Sturdy Ruby ran on well to finish second after settling on the rail in midfield. He has trouble winning but is always a chance over the Valley 1,650m. Sky Trust kept on well for third despite rushing forward after a prominent run to lead one off the rail 1,050m out. It was a solid effort at his first try over the Valley 1,650m after a last-start win over the 1,400m. I Can ran on nicely to fill the frame after making his run four back on the fence. He has run well in back-to-back starts after a win. Gallant Crown weakened over the last 100m after sharing the lead for the most part along the inside. He should find his mark shortly. Atomic Beauty stayed on without threatening the top five after improving three wide from towards the rear to sit in midfield coming to the final bend. He had an excuse. Super Baby only plodded 200m out after settling one off the fence coming to the final bend.
