Recap by phillip woo

Well-backed The Perfect Match took the short route home to just get up and deny Telcom Speed out after settling on the rail behind midfield. He wasn't beaten far in his first two career starts. Telecom Speed did everything right but get the win after reclaiming the lead 200m out following a quick start from gate two. He's itching for a return to the winner's circle. Falcon Court came on nicely through the middle for third after he was ridden for luck from gate 10. He is a winner waiting to happen. Team Happy ran on nicely for fourth after making his run one off the fence from behind midfield. He is getting better with each start. Super Sixty gradually faded over the last 100m after emerging with the lead from gate five. It was a better effort from his three starts. Golden Luck just plodded after slotting one-out, one-back from gate seven. He's found it harder in his past three starts. Golden Link made some ground without threatening after a wide trip from behind midfield. High Percentage never got into the act travelling three from the rear from gate 11.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.

Before being allowed to race again, HIGH PERCENTAGE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 3 GOLDEN LUCK (H159) L Hewitson Making the first turn near the 1000 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters.

Horse No 4 TOGEPI (G458) B Avdulla Leaving the 1100 Metres was steadied when crowded.

Horse No 5 BROTHER CHENG (J046) H T Mo Bumped at the start.

Approaching the turn passing the 1100 Metres BROTHER CHENG, which was racing keenly, was steadied when crowded between TEAM HAPPY which raced tight to the outside of TELECOM SPEED and SUPER SIXTY which, after improving to the inside of TOGEPI, was then crowded by that runner due to TOGEPI racing tight to the inside of GOLDEN LUCK (L Hewitson).

Whilst the Stewards accepted that GOLDEN LUCK lay in during this incident and Jockey Hewitson had made some attempt to prevent his mount from shifting in, he was advised that in similar circumstances he should exercise more care and make a greater effort to prevent his mounts from shifting in.

BROTHER CHENG was noted to have bled from both nostrils after the race.

Before being allowed to race again, BROTHER CHENG will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
