Recap by phillip woo

Well-backed Flamingo Trillion never looked back after leading from gate three for back-to-back wins over the Valley 1,800m. He's racing well and can win again. Winning Dragon found one too good after getting all favours in the box seat. He handled the step up to 1,800m without a problem. Awesome Fluke ran on steadily to fill a placing after biding his time two from the rear. It was a return to form following a stable change. Quantum Patch got going late near the inside to fill the frame after a wide trip towards the rear from a tricky gate. He's mixing his form. Intrepid Winner came from last and along the inside to finish next best. He required a stronger pace. Drifting favourite Noble Pursuit never landed a blow after a handy run with cover one off the fence. He ran flat on this occasion. Gallant Waking weakened after travelling wide without cover in better than midfiel the entire trip. He had an excuse. You can forget the run of Bravehearts who was caught four deep for the most part until taking hold to settle last mid-race.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three : (668) - LOIRE HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1800Meters

Horse No 1 WINNING DRAGON (E461) B Avdulla Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 GALLANT WAKING (G165) C Y Ho After the race, C Y Ho reported that in the early stages he looked to obtain a trailing position behind NOBLE PURSUIT.

He said when that runner shifted to a one-off position near the 1400 Metres, GALLANT WAKING was left racing wide and without cover thereafter.

He added that GALLANT WAKING raced keenly in this position and was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 3 NOBLE PURSUIT (H324) H Bowman After the race, H Bowman stated that after obtaining a handy position one-off near the 1400 Metres, his mount travelled satisfactorily in the early stages.

He said throughout the middle stages NOBLE PURSUIT was disadvantaged when it did not appreciate racing tight to the inside of GALLANT WAKING and when placed under pressure from the 500 Metres responded only fairly to his riding.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, NOBLE PURSUIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 BRAVEHEARTS (H389) A Badel Slow to begin.

Horse No 5 AWESOME FLUKE (J050) A Atzeni In the early stages raced keenly and near the 1500 Metres was eased to avoid WINNING DRAGON when that runner shifted in.

Making the Home Turn was held up for clear running.

Horse No 7 FLAMINGO TRILLION (H192) K C Leung Made contact with the left side of its barrier on jumping.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 8 DEVILDOM (H445) L Hewitson After the race, L Hewitson reported that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride his mount conservatively in the early stages and if circumstances permitted to make a mid-race move.

He said when DEVILDOM jumped well and runners to his inside did not show the intention to hold a forward position, he allowed DEVILDOM to shift in to race outside the leader FLAMINGO TRILLION without having to make use of his mount to do so.
