Recap by phillip woo

Leading from the outside gate, Super Commander kept on gamely after turning the final bend three lengths on top to post his second win from five starts this season. He has thrived since joining Pierre Ng Pang-chi. Sixth Generation weaved a run late near the inside to take second after his one-off-the-rail trip behind midfield. He proved his third at the end of last season was not a fluke. Favourite Yellowfin stayed on third best after his prominent run on the fence. He is honest but limited. Divine Era ran on nicely near the outside for fourth ridden patiently out back from barrier 10. He was fitter for his closing seventh at Sha Tin last month. Happy Trio made some ground without menacing after his rail run in midfield. He can produce a good run every now and then. Goodluck Goodluck made headway late ridden one from the rear after his slow start. He is not far off a bottom. See U Again came up one paced after his one-off-the-fence run better than midfield. He requires rating relief. Awesome Treasure was gone 150m out after his speed-chasing run. Despite his downgrade, he is struggling to recapture his form.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (154) - THE TUNG WAH GROUP OF HOSPITALS CHALLENGE CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1000Meters

GOODLUCK GOODLUCK, which was leaning on the outside of its stall, began awkwardly and was then crowded for room between SEE U AGAIN and HAPPY TRIO which shifted out.

In this incident, SEE U AGAIN became unbalanced when racing tight inside SIXTH GENERATION.

This resulted in GOODLUCK GOODLUCK racing back in the field tonight.

YELLOWFIN shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of VIVA MAMA.

From wide barriers, BRILLIANT LIFE and BRILLIANT EIGHT were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After the 900 Metres, MULTIMORE, when being ridden along, got its head on the side and hung in across the heels of YELLOWFIN when very awkwardly placed outside the heels of that horse.

MULTIMORE was then hampered and lost ground as a result of YELLOWFIN (K C Leung) shifting out.

K C Leung was advised that whilst the Stewards accepted that MULTIMORE's racing manners at this time had played a significant part in this incident, nonetheless he must do his best to ensure that his mounts do not shift ground unnecessarily.

Approaching the 800 Metres, DIVINE ERA, which was laying in, was hampered and shifted out away from the heels of SIXTH GENERATION which, when being shifted across behind SEE U AGAIN to obtain cover, was awkwardly placed outside the heels of that horse.

BRILLIANT EIGHT raced ungenerously approaching and passing the 800 Metres.

Near the 250 Metres, SIXTH GENERATION was shifted in away from the heels of VIVA MAMA to obtain clear running.

Approaching the 100 Metres, SEE U AGAIN got its head on the side and lay in towards AWESOME TREASURE, resulting in the rider of SEE U AGAIN having to stop riding and straighten.

After the race, it was reported that VIVA MAMA had bled from both nostrils.

A veterinary inspection of AWESOME TREASURE, which was eased down over the concluding stages, immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.

Before being allowed to race again, AWESOME TREASURE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of SEE U AGAIN and MULTIMORE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

YELLOWFIN, SUPER COMMANDER and SIXTH GENERATION were sent for sampling.
