In a suitably run race, You'remyeverything produced a very good turn of foot through the centre to overhaul Diamond Brilliant in deep stretch for the win after biding his time fourth last from a middle draw. He remains unbeaten after winning both overseas in Australia. Favourite Diamond Brilliant did everything right but get the win after shooting to the front 150m out following a handy run. It was another fine effort carrying more weight following a last-start win. Excellent Chariot finished nicely three from the right to fill a placing after making his run at the rear of the field. He was fitter for a positive run last month at Sha Tin. Punted late The Runner nearly filled a placing after making his run two deep behind midfield from a wide draw. He rarely produces a bad run over this Valley trip. Special M came up one-paced after a prominent run on the fence. He's had his chance in back-to-back runs this term. Harmony N Home made good ground late after a patient ride third last from a wide draw. He's one to keep safe from a better draw. Sergeant Pepper was stopping 200m out after getting hounded for the lead to his outside through genuine fractions by Equaletta Blitz. He had an excuse.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine: (167) - LUNG FU SHAN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

JADE PHOENIX shifted in at the start and hampered HARMONY N HOME.

Then from a wide barrier, HARMONY N HOME was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

HARRIER JET and SPECIAL M bumped shortly after the start.

GRACYLOVE and EXCELLENT CHARIOT were steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.

Making the turn after the 600 Metres, DIAMOND BRILLIANT raced tight between SPECIAL M and JADE PHOENIX.

Approaching the 200 Metres, DIAMOND BRILLIANT was crowded for room inside EQUALETTA BLITZ (B Shinn) which shifted in under pressure.

B Shinn was told to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

Passing the 200 Metres, YOU'REMYEVERYTHING was shifted out away from the heels of JADE PHOENIX to continue improving.

Approaching the 150 Metres, EXCELLENT CHARIOT was directed out away from the heels of HARRIET JET to obtain clear running.

Throughout the race, JADE PHOENIX travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, M F Poon reported that GRACYLOVE was always under pressure in tonight's race to hold its position and was never able to relax and travel comfortably.

He said that after having to ride GRACYLOVE along throughout the middle stages, the horse did not finish off the race in the Straight.

A veterinary inspection of GRACYLOVE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of SERGEANT PEPPER, K Teetan stated that his mount did not travel as strongly in tonight's race as it did at its first up run over 1000 Metres, also at Happy Valley.

He said stepping up in distance to 1200 Metres tonight, he was able to lead the race without having to make use of the horse in the early stages, however, he was required to ride his mount along prior to the 400 Metres to maintain its position inside EQUALETTA BLITZ.

He said SERGEANT PEPPER did not appear to be comfortable inside that horse rounding the Home Turn and after coming under heavy pressure in the early part of the Straight when laying in was then very disappointing in the manner in which it gave ground in the Straight.

A veterinary inspection of SERGEANT PEPPER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of SERGEANT PEPPER, which finished last, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, SERGEANT PEPPER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of PERFECT GLORY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

YOU'REMYEVERYTHING and DIAMOND BRILLIANT were sent for sampling.
