Recap by phillip woo

Odds-on favourite Packing Victory kept on gamely after rushing to the lead 350m out chasing the leader Good Health on the fence to remain unbeaten in three starts despite a rise in class. Do expect this to be a strong form race and he remains one to follow. Five Elements was closing with every stride to finish a close second after a prominent run on the fence. It was a solid debut effort after arriving a Group winner from three starts in New Zealand and the future looks bright. Master Delight was motoring late from behind midfield to make it a thriller on the wire. He had filled the frame in two of three Group appearances in Australia and clearly wants a longer trip. Ima Single Man was held up for a run until the 150m travelling midfield on the fence and should have finished closer. Rock Ya Heart kept on evenly travelling effectively one-out, one-back. He proved a runner-up result on opening day was not a fluke and he can bob up at any moment. Pleasant Endeavor ran on late without menacing settling towards the rear. He hasn't quite measured up at this level following wins in two of three Class Fours. Bright Kid made up heaps of ground late from a detached spot but prefer him in Class Four.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (62) - FU TAI HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

ROCK YA HEART, which was kicked by a lead horse behind the barriers, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was suitable to race.

MASTER DELIGHT began only fairly.

ROCK YA HEART began very awkwardly and lost ground.

EMBARKED shifted out abruptly at the start and was steadied away from the heels of GOOD HEALTH which resulted in EMBARKED losing ground.

After this, from a wide barrier, EMBARKED was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

From the outside barrier, PLEASANT ENDEAVOR was also steadied to obtain cover in the early stages.

Approaching the 900 Metres, ROCK YA HEART was awkwardly placed behind DIAMOND BRILLIANT.

Also approaching the 900 Metres, WAR OF COURAGE was left racing wide and without cover and was steadied to obtain cover.

Passing the 400 Metres, ROCK YA HEART raced tight between FIVE ELEMENTS and DIAMOND BRILLIANT.

DIAMOND BRILLIANT (Apprentice C L Chau) then shifted in, resulting in ROCK YA HEART being crowded for room outside FIVE ELEMENTS.

ROCK YA HEART was then hampered approaching the 300 Metres between DIAMOND BRILLIANT and FIVE ELEMENTS which shifted out marginally.

Apprentice Chau was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

Throughout the race, DIAMOND BRILLIANT travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of DIAMOND BRILLIANT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

PACKING VICTORY and FIVE ELEMENTS were sent for sampling.
