Racing Incident Report
Race One: (729) - RENFREW HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
JOYFUL CHEERS, FLYING SPIRIT and SO GLORIOUS began awkwardly.
J Moreira's (AMAZING KNIGHT) left foot slipped out of the stirrup iron on jumping which he was able to regain the use of after travelling a short distance.
AMAZING KNIGHT and SHINING ON were crowded for room on jumping between HARRIER JET and BULLISH BROTHER, both of which shifted ground.
This resulted in AMAZING KNIGHT and SHINING ON bumping shortly after the start.
From a wide barrier, BREEZE OF SPRING was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
In the early stages, WHISKEY NEAT travelled keenly and got its head up when being steadied to obtain cover from the outside barrier.
Approaching the 1100 Metres, SHINING ON was awkwardly placed close to the heels of AMAZING KNIGHT when being shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
Approaching the 1000 Metres, JOYFUL CHEERS became unbalanced of its own accord.
After the 1000 Metres, WHISKEY NEAT travelled very keenly and got its head up when awkwardly placed behind MELBOURNE HALL.
BREEZE OF SPRING, which was following, was inconvenienced.
After the 700 Metres, MELBOURNE HALL was left racing wide and without cover.
ATHENA lost both front plates in the middle stages.
At the 300 Metres, ATHENA was shifted to the inside of BULLISH BROTHER after being disappointed for running between that horse and SO GLORIOUS.
Passing the 300 Metres, AMAZING KNIGHT was shifted out away from the heels of SO GLORIOUS which was brushed by HARRIET JET.
Near the 275 Metres, SHINING ON raced tight inside WHISKEY NEAT which lay in.
Passing the 200 Metres, SHINING ON and WHISKEY NEAT raced tight.
Close to the finishing line, AMAZING KNIGHT raced in restricted room between BULLISH BROTHER and MELBOURNE HALL which shifted in.
BREEZE OF SPRING, which was following AMAZING KNIGHT, was steadied in consequence.
Because of this, AMAZING KNIGHT was not ridden out all the way to the end of the race.
After the 50 Metres, M Chadwick (SHINING ON) momentarily dropped his left rein which he regathered just prior to the finishing line.
HARRIER JET and SHINING ON were sent for sampling.

Favourite Harrier Jet ran on well to take control 100m out after a perfectly-executed ride one off in fourth. He was well rated and had put the writing was on the wall with a return to the Valley 1,200m last start. Shining On closed off nicely after working into the clear with two wider out at the 200m following a patient ride second from the rear to just snatch second. True Legend grudgingly gave way after overworking to clear Bullish Brother for the lead 800m out. It was a good effort at his first Valley run. Punted late Melbourne Hall stayed on reasonably well for fourth after a wide and without cover run in midfield. He seems to act best over this Valley trip. Bullish Brother just plodded after handing up the lead to stake the sit on the leader's back. He's likely on his mark after a last-start win. Amazing Knight ran on without menacing after making his run one off the fence behind midfield. He's still acclimatising.
