Racing Incident Report
Race Five: (723) - TAI HING HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1600Meters
SANGRIA was withdrawn on 6.6.20 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (sore both front feet).
Before being allowed to race again, SANGRIA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
LEAP OF FAITH and RIGHTEOUS WIN began awkwardly.
EZRA began awkwardly, resulting in its rider becoming unbalanced.
CIRCUIT NUMBER ONE shifted out at the start and inconvenienced JADE FORTUNE.
JOLLY FOREVER was slow to begin.
From the outside barrier, HAPPY WIN WIN was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Despite being vigorously ridden in the early stages, JADE FORTUNE failed to muster speed.
In the early and middle stages, EZRA raced with its head on the side and lay out.
At the 1000 Metres, TELECOM ROCKET was left racing wide and without cover and after this was allowed to improve its position, however, continued to race wide and without cover due to POLYMER LUCK maintaining its position to its inside.
Near the 350 Metres, ROYAL RACER shifted out and bumped EZRA.
Passing the 300 Metres, TELECOM ROCKET shifted out under pressure, requiring its rider to stop riding and straighten his mount.
TELECOM ROCKET again shifted out under pressure over the final 100 Metres.
Passing the 150 Metres, HAPPY WIN WIN was directed to the outside of LEAP OF FAITH after being disappointed for running inside that horse.
A veterinary inspection of RIGHTEOUS WIN and KA YING BRILLIANCE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
LEAP OF FAITH and TELECOM ROCKET were sent for sampling.

Favourite Leap Of Faith kept finding for the win after sneaking through along the fence to lead 200m out travelling behind midfield after a slow start. The win was overdue after placing in two of five other starts. Plunged late Telecom Rocket would have won if he could keep a straight line in the drive to the wire after moving to the lead 300m despite getting no closer than three-deep while rolling forward to press the leader 800m out from a wide gate. It was a huge run in defeat. Punted late Happy Win Win came from last near the inside to make it close on the wire. It was one of his better runs after following from a rating high of 73. Ezra got going to fill the frame after a on-off run in midfield. He's in the right grade again but the big weight anchored him. Circuit Number One kept on all right after a box-seat run. He'll be a force to be reckoned with in Class Five. Jade Fortune ran on late towards the outside after a patient ride beyond midfield.
