Punted late Cool Team went whoosh to take control 250m out after getting a lovely run one-off in midfield from a wide gate. He had threatened to do this in a few of his five previous runs and can win another. Lobo's Legend ran on well carrying a big weight from behind midfield to narrowly take second. It was a good effort carrying top weight down in class and he's better suited over a longer trip. Great Treasure ran on nicely one from the right after a patient ride third from the rear to nearly fill the Quinella spot. He can produce an odd good run in this grade and does perform well fresh. Favourite Craig's Star just finished out of the placings following a prominent run. It was another honest effort but the move to blinkers didn't have the desired effect. Vigor Fame was giving ground 100m out after assuming the front from Magnificent 300m out. He's better over a longer trip. I Do finished willing down the outside after settling fourth from the back.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten: (20) - TAI PING SHAN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters

LOBO'S LEGEND began awkwardly and lost ground.

GREAT TREASURE shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of EVER LAUGH.

From the outside barrier, LUCKY TIME got its head up on a number of occasions when being steadied to be shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain cover.

When being steadied to obtain cover in the early stages, HUANGSHAN shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of COOL TEAM which also shifted in.

This resulted in HUANGSHAN becoming unbalanced and losing ground.

Near the 1050 Metres, I DO was steadied away from the heels of FOLLOW ME (J Moreira) which shifted in when not properly clear.

J Moreira was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances.

Approaching the 300 Metres, COBY BOY was directed to the outside of COMFORT LIFE to obtain clear running.

After the race, B Shinn was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of COBY BOY.

He said after being placed under pressure in the early part of the Straight, COBY BOY finished off the race only one-paced over the concluding stages.

After the 200 Metres, COOL TEAM shifted out under pressure.

CRAIG'S STAR, COOL TEAM and LOBO'S LEGEND were sent for sampling.

GENERAL:

1.

After the running of Race 3, the track classification for the turf course was officially changed from "Good??to "Good to Firm?? This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.

As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 3 being run on a track rated "Good to Firm??

Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 1 September 2019 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of GOOD RUNNERS WAY, REGENCY GEM, LEISURED FEET, ADONIS, KWAI CHUNG ELITE, SEASONS BLOOM, FALCON TURBO, CALIFORNIA GUNGHO, LUCKY GUY, MR MAGELLAN, SUNSHINE WARRIOR, CASIMIRO, KA YING MASTER, DANCING FIGHTER, GOLDEN SIXTY, MR CROISSANT, GOLD CHEST, FAST MOST FURIOUS, MULTIMILLION, SUPER JUNIOR, CORDYCEPS and WORLD FAMOUS revealed no apparent abnormality.

HAVE FUN TOGETHER (B84), trained by Mr C Fownes, was diagnosed as having a strain of the left front suspensory ligament on 20 August 2019 and, in accordance with established practice, was issued with an official veterinary examination requirement.

A subsequent examination and associated ultrasound scan performed on 28 August 2019 revealed that the injury was not as significant as originally diagnosed.

Accordingly, the official veterinary examination requirement has been downgraded to a requirement that a clinical veterinary clearance must be obtained before being allowed to race again.
