Favourite Hezthewonforus got away with an easy run in front from gate 14 and just held off Fast Most Furious by a bob of heads for the win. It was a huge effort in his first run in 315-days following an injury. Fast Most Furious came up a whisker short with a good move late following a deep run with cover in midfield. He rarely produces a bad run. Styling City was short of room late after tracking the leader in the run from a wide gate. It was a return to form despite a step up in distance. My Darling kept on reasonably well following a box-seat run. He's put up a better fight in his past two of four starts following a stable change. Easy Go Easy Win made some ground late from beyond midfield. It was a better effort but he has been disappointing this campaign. Gold Chest ran on without menacing following a rail run behind midfield. The 1,400m is too short. Plunged late, Regency Bo Bo only held his ground over-racing worse than midfield after jumping awkwardly.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eleven: (694) - VIVA PATACA HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1400Meters

KASI FARASI began awkwardly and lost ground.

KASI FARASI was then allowed to improve its position to race outside the lead, however, travelled wide and without cover throughout the race.

COT CAMPBELL began only fairly, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of REGENCY BO BO.

As the start was effected, GOLD CHEST lifted its front feet off the ground and as a result began only fairly.

From a wide barrier, PERFECT GLORY was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

SEERITE DRAGON was also steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.

Passing the 1000 Metres, REGENCY BO BO raced tight inside FAST MOST FURIOUS (Z Purton) which shifted in.

Z Purton was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he does not place undue pressure on other runners.

Then near the 900 Metres, FAST MOST FURIOUS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CALIFORNIA WHIP and shifted out away from behind that horse.

Making the turn after the 900 Metres, REGENCY BO BO got its head up on a number of occasions when travelling keenly.

Approaching the 800 Metres, PERFECT GLORY got its head up when awkwardly placed inside the heels of EASY GO EASY WIN.

HEZTHEWONFORUS lay out rounding the Home Turn.

Passing the 200 Metres, KASI FARASI and CALIFORNIA WHIP raced tight.

Near the 50 Metres, STYLING CITY shifted in away from FAST MOST FURIOUS and was awkwardly placed outside the heels of HEZTHEWONFORUS (J Moreira) which then shifted out, resulting in STYLING CITY having to be steadied.

J Moreira was advised that whilst the Stewards accepted that STYLING CITY had initially lay in towards the heels of HEZTHEWONFORUS, he was nonetheless severely reprimanded and advised that in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mounts.

HEZTHEWONFORUS lost its left front plate over the concluding stages.

When questioned regarding his riding out of FAST MOST FURIOUS over the concluding stages, Z Purton stated that after shifting to the outside of KASI FARASI passing the 400 Metres, FAST MOST FURIOUS commenced to quicken well.

He said however that near the 300 Metres FAST MOST FURIOUS commenced to lay in and for this reason he changed his whip over into his right hand.

He said when being ridden out passing the 200 Metres FAST MOST FURIOUS commenced to hang in, however, as he was aware that he was clear of runners to his inside, he was able to continue to ride the horse whilst it shifted in.

He said FAST MOST FURIOUS continued to hang in under pressure and he continued to allow the horse to shift in as he was aware that STYLING CITY was a number of horses away from FAST MOST FURIOUS.

He said however near the 50 Metres FAST MOST FURIOUS continued to hang in towards STYLING CITY and as he was aware that STYLING CITY was racing to his inside, he felt that if he continued to ride the horse out in the same manner, he may cause interference to that horse.

He said for this reason he stopped riding FAST MOST FURIOUS with the whip whilst continuing to ride the horse out as he attempted to straighten FAST MOST FURIOUS.

He said at this time he was concerned that STYLING CITY was racing very close to the heels of FAST MOST FURIOUS, he felt that had he not have attempted to straighten his mount FAST MOST FURIOUS would have shifted in across the rightful running of STYLING CITY and because of this he was not able to ride FAST MOST FURIOUS OUT close to the finishing line as he normally would.

After viewing the videos, the Stewards accepted Z Purton's explanation.

A veterinary inspection of NOBLE STEED immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right hind leg.

Before being allowed to race again, NOBLE STEED will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

HEZTHEWONFORUS and FAST MOST FURIOUS were sent for sampling.

C Y Ho was fined $2,000 for riding in races conducted today in breeches which did not carry his name.

In arriving at this decision, the Stewards took into consideration that Jockey Ho had been spoken to previously about this matter.

2.

After the running of Race 2, the track classification was officially changed from "Good??to "Good to Yielding?? This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.

As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 2 being run on a track rated "Good to Yielding??

3.

Omission from Racing Incidents Report of 22 May 2019 Happy Valley Racemeeting - Race 7 (682) Throughout the race, WINNING SUPREME travelled wide and without cover.
