Racing Incident Report
Race Six: (579) - JASPER HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
VICTORIAM began awkwardly and then was hampered when crowded for room outside TRUST ME which was taken out by BRAVE BABY which shifted out after beginning awkwardly.
FLYING VICTORY was crowded for room on jumping between GAINFULJET and EIGHT TRIGRAMS which shifted out.
BINGO took some time to muster speed in the early stages despite being ridden along and subsequently travelled wide and without cover throughout the race.
From wide barriers, GREAT TREASURE and YICHUN BLITZ were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After travelling a short distance, FAMILY LEADER was steadied when crowded for room between LIGHTNING TREASURE and GAINFULJET which got its head on the side and shifted out.
Passing the 1100 Metres, TRUST ME was awkwardly placed inside the heels of VICTORIAM.
Near the 950 Metres, VICTORIAM got its head up when being steadied to allow EIGHT TRIGRAMS to cross.
VICTORIAM got its head on the side and made the turn near the 900 Metres awkwardly.
Approaching the 600 Metres, LIGHTNING TREASURE was awkwardly placed outside the heels of FLYING VICTORY which shifted to the outside of VICTORIAM.
Passing the 200 Metres, FLYING VICTORY shifted in under pressure, resulting in its rider having to stop riding, straighten his mount and change the whip into his right hand.
A veterinary inspection of BINGO, VICTORIAM and LIGHTNING TREASURE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
VICTORIAM, FLYING VICTORY and EIGHT TRIGRAMS were sent for sampling.

Flying Victory ran down Eight Trigram despite laying in under pressure 50m out following a deep run in midfield with cover to repay punters after a costly debut effort. Eight Trigrams wouldn't go down without a fight after leading from gate four. It was a much better effort for him at his third start with the hood removed. Yichun Blitz rallied nicely after settling fourth from the back to fill a placing. He's a winner waiting to happen. Great Treasure came from last to snatch fourth from Brave Baby. He's in the right grade again but clearly requires a longer trip. Early favourite Brave Baby held his ground after being held up early straight following a prominent run on the fence. Family Leader ran on late without menacing from near the back. He needs a longer trip. Victoriam didn't fire sitting better than midfield one off the fence following a sluggish break on debut here.
