Firming favourite Big Party edged clear 150m out after attacking the leader Dashing Gainer 800m out following a troubled start for a maiden win at only his second start with a switch to the dirt. He's got scope to head higher. Dashing Gainer couldn't go with the winner in the drive to the wire after making use of the claimer's allowance to lead early on from gate four. There's a win in him shortly on this surface. Flying Godspeed stuck on well following a one-out, one-back run. He's holding his form well following a second-up win. Massive Millennium just out-finished Nick Kick for fourth travelling worse than midfield. He's produced two okay runs in this class but is better in the bottom grade. Punted late Nice Kick closed well after travelling third from the rear. The track bias played against him. Golden Effort had his chance following a box-seat run. He needs to lead on his own. Startling Power dumped rider Keith Yeung Ming-lun 1,050m out.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (223) - MIDDLE HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

NICE FANDANGO was slow to begin and on jumping shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of MASSIVE MILLENNIUM.

BIG PARTY was crowded for room on jumping between HEARTS KEEPER and STARTLING POWER which shifted out.

In this incident, all three horses became unbalanced.

From the outside barriers, FAME AND FORTUNE and MOTHER WISHES were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After the 700 Metres, HEARTS KEEPER was left racing wide and without cover.

After the 600 Metres, MOTHER WISHES became unbalanced and shifted out, inconveniencing FAME AND FORTUNE.

The performance of MOTHER WISHES, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, MOTHER WISHES will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of MOTHER WISHES immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Approaching the 400 Metres, MASSIVE MILLENNIUM got its head on the side and lay out.

In the Straight, NICE FANDANGO raced with its head on the side and lay in under pressure.

As M L Yeung (STARTLING POWER) was not available to give evidence due to being transported to hospital, the Stewards opened and immediately adjourned an inquiry until a date to be fixed into the reason for STARTLING POWER falling near the 1100 Metres which caused M L Yeung to be dislodged.

A veterinary inspection of NICE FANDANGO and STARTLING POWER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

BIG PARTY and DASHING GAINER were sent for sampling.
