Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (198) - SUTHERLAND HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
BEAUTY LOYAL, which was restless in the barriers, sat back as the start was effected and consequently was slow to begin.
MOST BEAUTIFUL shifted out abruptly at the start and bumped SEVEN HEAVENS, causing that horse to become badly unbalanced and MOST BEAUTIFUL to stumble.
After this, SEVEN HEAVENS got its head on the side and shifted in abruptly, causing MOST BEAUTIFUL to be crowded for room outside STARLIGHT which was taken out by TELECOM BROTHERS which shifted out after being bumped by SPEED VISION which got its head on the side and shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider.
When SPEED VISION shifted out, CHEEKY BEE was steadied away from the heels of that horse.
Near the 900 Metres, BEAUTY LOYAL, which was hard ridden to improve its position inside SEVEN HEAVENS, was checked after SEVEN HEAVENS, which had initially been steadied away from the heels of TELECOM BROTHERS (C Schofield) which shifted in when not properly clear, got its head up when awkwardly placed behind that horse and shifted in away from the heels of TELECOM BROTHERS.
As there were a number of circumstances associated with this incident, the Stewards took no further action, however, C Schofield was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is properly clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
IRON BOY lost its right front plate approaching the 700 Metres.
Passing the 250 Metres, ZERO HEDGE shifted in and made contact with SPEED VISION.
BEAUTY LOYAL had some difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 50 Metres.
A veterinary inspection of MOST BEAUTIFUL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
ZERO HEDGE, STARLIGHT and SEVEN HEAVENS were sent for sampling.
GENERAL:
1.
After the running of Race 7, the track classification was officially changed from "Good to Yielding??to "Good?? This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.
As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 7 being run on a track rated "Good??

18 November 2018 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Race 7 (187) The Stewards tonight questioned K C Leung (RUTHVEN) regarding his decision to improve his position after 1300 Metres when the pace was being run at a good tempo.
K C Leung stated that he was instructed to obtain a forward position behind the leaders if possible as RUTHVEN is one-paced.
He said after being badly interfered with shortly after the start, RUTHVEN settled further back in the field than had been anticipated.
He said this resulted in RUTHVEN having to race behind HORSE OF FORTUNE after this incident.
He said passing the 1400 Metres a considerable gap had opened up in front of HORSE OF FORTUNE due to the tempo of the race.
He said as HORSE OF FORTUNE, in his opinion, would not be able to take him into the race, he felt that there was an opportunity after the 1300 Metres to improve his position forward of HORSE OF FORTUNE and to race behind the leaders and outside PAKISTAN STAR.
He said although the race was being run at a good tempo at this time, he felt that RUTHVEN would be able to improve its position forward of HORSE OF FORTUNE without having to make too much use of the horse and that he would be able to do this within a relatively short distance.
He added accordingly he shifted RUTHVEN to the outside of HORSE OF FORTUNE passing the 1300 Metres and was able to improve his position to race in advance of that horse and outside PAKISTAN STAR with cover behind GLORIOUS FOREVER by the 1100 Metres.
He said after this RUTHVEN retained cover behind GLORIOUS FOREVER until being taken wider by PAKISTAN STAR approaching the 500 Metres.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 18 November 2018 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of CHARIZARD, ALPHA HEDGE, GRAN MASTER, SUPERIOR BOY, SHAMPORT, ELUSIVE STATE, GREAT TREASURE, STYLING CITY, KA YING LEGEND, INSAYSHABLE, HARMONY VICTORY, BEAUTY GENERATION, SOUTHERN LEGEND, EAGLE WAY, EXULTANT, HOT KING PRAWN, MR STUNNING, RAGING STORM, LIMITLESS, NOBLE STEED and NICCONI EXPRESS revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of CLEMENT LEGEND, PEARL FURU, HAPPY TOUR, HONEST WAY, GLITTERING ARMOUR, RIGHT CHOICE, FLYING GODSPELL, SMART PATCH, VICTORY MACHINE, MUSIC ADDITION, WITNESS HUNTER, CITY LEGEND, YOU HAVE MY WORD, BRING IT ON, SUPER GIANT, TAKING AIM, HIGH VOLATILITY, LITTLE GIANT, RATTAN, CONTE, ELITE BOY, NUCLEAR POWER, SUPER MAN, HAPPY SEBRING, STARSHIP and KIRAM (10.11.18) proved negative.

Starlight came with a sweeping run from near the back to swamp them in the dying stages despite carrying 13 pounds more following a last-start win. Carrying a tonne of roll-up money Sevens Heaven finished well but found one too good following a midfield run. He relished a downgrade with a return to the course and distance of his only placing. Strathclyde fought on gamely to finish a close third despite getting pressured up front by Speed Vision. Iron Boy stayed on reasonably well following a handy run. He's honest but doesn't have much upside of his current mark. Zero Hedge gave way 100m out chasing the speed one off. He's taking his time finding his legs this term. Telecom Brothers only held his ground following a handy run. He's an improved runner this term but may need to drop further in the handicaps. Favourite Beauty Loyal made only a mild bid from behind midfield after missing the kick. His gate antics continue to cost punters dearly.
