Recap by phillip woo

World Record came from last and widest out at the 300m to grab a whisker victory over favourite Rattan. He doesn't know how to run a bad race over this trip. Rattan was just denied after darting to the lead 50m out following a patient ride third from the rear. He lost nothing in defeat and remains one to following at 1,400m or a mile. Citron Spirit stayed on well after surging to the lead 150m out following a deep run with cover worse than midfield. He ran another honest race. Group One Brazilian winner Harmony Victory charged home after travelling second from the rear to nearly place in an eye-catching debut and is better suited over a longer trip. Circuit Hassler finished nicely one from the right after travelling deep without cover behind midfield. Bombay Blitz ran on steadily following a one-off run in midfield. California Joy ran on all right after being held up for a run until the 150m following a rail run behind midfield.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten: (10) - ALBERT HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1400Meters

From wide barriers, WORLD RECORD and RATTAN were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Approaching the 1100 Metres, RIVET commenced to prove very difficult to settle and shifted out when being checked away from the heels of BOMBAY BLITZ, causing CITRON SPIRIT to be taken out onto CIRCUIT HASSLER which was hampered.

For some distance after this, RIVET continued to over-race.

Passing the 350 Metres, U Rispoli (HARMONY VICTORY) momentarily dropped his right rein.

RIVET had some difficulty obtaining clear running approaching the 300 Metres.

CALIFORNIA JOY was not able to obtain clear running until passing the 200 Metres.

Throughout the race, KING GENKI travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of RIVET and CALIFORNIA JOY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

WORLD RECORD and RATTAN were sent for sampling.
