Racing Incident Report
Race Eleven: (686) - VENGEANCE OF RAIN HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1400Meters
RATTAN was crowded for room on jumping between HEZTHEWONFORUS and TURIN REDSTAR, both of which shifted ground.
This resulted in all three horses becoming unbalanced.
TURIN REDSTAR then shifted out when unbalanced and bumped RIVET.
DRAGON GENERAL began awkwardly.
REGENCY BO BO was slow to begin and then was ridden along for a considerable distance in the early stages to take up a forward position.
From wide barriers, IRISH VEGA and JOLLY JOLLY were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 500 Metres, after improving into tight running between XIANG BAI QI and RIVET, RATTAN was crowded for room passing the 500 Metres when XIANG BAI QI shifted out away from the heels of TURIN REDSTAR.
TURIN REDSTAR and DANCES WITH DRAGON raced tight for some distance after passing the 400 Metres as TURIN REDSTAR improved into tight running between DANCES WITH DRAGON and HEZTHEWONFORUS which got its head on the side and lay out.
RATTAN was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight when awkwardly placed close to the heels of APOLLO'S CHOICE.
In the early part of the Straight, XIANG BAI QI got its head on the side and lay in under pressure and passing the 200 Metres was momentarily steadied away from the heels of APOLLO'S CHOICE which shifted out.
From the 200 Metres until passing the 100 Metres, FAST MOST FURIOUS had difficulty obtaining clear running.
DRAGON GENERAL was unable to obtain clear running at any stage in the Straight and consequently was not able to be tested.
A veterinary inspection of REGENCY BO BO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
HEZTHEWONFORUS, RATTAN and WORLD RECORD were sent for sampling.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Happy Valley Racemeeting on 23 May 2018 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of JOLLY AMBER, AEROLUMINANCE, LOTUS BREEZE, GOLDEN GLORY, FLYING GODSPELL, LUCKY LUCKY, CHEER WIN, VERY RICH MAN, ALL YOU KNOW, ULTIMATE DREAM, PRAWN BABA, WINNING FAITH, THE JUDGE, MULTI FACETS, LAND GRANT, GUNNISON, FORTUNE BOOTH, HARRIER JET and STAR OF JOY revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of I'M A WITNESS, STARLIT KNIGHT, RISING POWER, CALL ME AWESOME, NICE FANDANGO, TOP SCORE, DRAGON PIONEER, HEALTHY LUCK, ELECTRIC LIGHTNING, ENORMOUS HONOUR, DASHING DART, FOX SUNTER, GOOD FOR YOU, PEACE N PROSPERITY, SUPER HOPPY, EXTREMELY FUN, SUPER CHIC, VICTORY BOYS, FAITHFUL TRINITY, LET'S TAKE IT EASY, OUTLAWED and SILVERBIRD (16.5.18) proved negative.

Rattan showed an electrifying turn of foot following a midfield run to win going away 200m out to beat a good field for a fourth win this term. World Record finished well down the outside after a patient ride fourth from the rear to overhaul Circuit Hassler in the final few metres for second. Circuit Hassler stuck on gamely after being ridden along to share the lead one off the fence for the majority of the race from a wide gate. He rarely produces a bad run over the 1,400m or 1,600m. Fast Most Furious had to steady once each at the 200m and the 100m with his move near the inside after travelling third from the back. He should have finished closer. Hezthewonforus came up one-paced in the last 150m after driving through to lead along the fence at the 850m. Rivet stayed on all right after a deep run beyond midfield. He's clearly wants a mile or even 1,800m.
