Racing Incident Report
Race Nine: (648) - MACAU HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1000Meters
JUMBO LUCK began awkwardly.
RIVET began only fairly.
BALTIC WHISPER lost its right hind plate near the 950 Metres.
Passing the 100 Metres, MY DARLING was shifted in a number of horses to obtain clear running.
Passing the 50 Metres, DANCES WITH DRAGON had some difficulty obtaining clear running and then over the concluding stages raced tight outside BALTIC WHISPER.
After the race, Z Purton reported that BALTIC WHISPER shortened stride over the concluding stages and did not feel comfortable in its action.
A veterinary inspection of BALTIC WHISPER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Before being allowed to race again, BALTIC WHISPER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of HOUSE OF FUN immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

BALTIC WHISPER, JUMBO LUCK and ARCHIPPUS were sent for sampling.

Jumbo Luck blew them away 150m out following a handy run in his first go over the straight 1,000m. He's had issues but is talented when right and might have more points in hand over this Sha Tin trip. Archippus closed nicely from beyond midfield near the stands side to grab second close to home. Favourite Baltic Whisper just held off Gunnison for third after getting no breather in front being pestered by Bravo Watchman. Gunnison closed well from midfield to just miss third. He's nicely coming around but prefer him over the 1,200m. Bravo Watchman was one-paced over the last 100m out. He's better ridden off the speed. Dances With Dragon was short of room late between the early leaders when making headway following a patient ride fifth from the back. Seven Heavens stayed on better following fore of midfield on the stands side. He's likely one for next season. House Of Fun couldn't find when popped the question following a handy run.
