Racing Incident Report
Race Ten: (400) - WU KING HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters
BABA MAMA and WHAMPOA STAR were slow to begin.
REGENCY BO BO began awkwardly and then had to be ridden along for a considerable distance to obtain a forward position.
PERFECT TO PLAY shifted out at the start and bumped PERPETUAL TREASURE.
From a wide barrier, FARSHAD was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
When being steadied in an attempt to obtain cover, HEALTHY JOYFUL travelled keenly after the 1200 Metres and got its head up on a number of occasions when left racing wide.
When continuing to race wide and without cover near the 900 Metres, HEALTHY JOYFUL was bumped by WORLD RECORD which shifted out.
HEALTHY JOYFUL was then steadied to obtain a trailing position behind WORLD RECORD approaching the 800 Metres.
Approaching the 500 Metres, BABA MAMA was steadied when attempting to improve to the outside of GOOD OMEN and inside HEALTHY JOYFUL which at this time was shifted to the inside of WORLD RECORD.
Passing the 100 Metres, STAR MAJESTIC got its head on the side and shifted out across the heels of PERPETUAL TREASURE, resulting in MIDNIGHT RATTLER being inconvenienced.
When questioned, N Rawiller (BABA MAMA) stated that after being hampered near the 500 Metres and subsequently unable to improve, he commenced to ride his mount along at the entrance to the Straight, however, BABA MAMA took some time to respond to his riding.
He said that after the 300 Metres the horse commenced to make ground, but at this time STAR MAJESTIC and MIDNIGHT RATTLER, which were racing in advance of BABA MAMA, were only travelling fairly and as GOOD OMEN was still positioned to the inside of BABA MAMA, he had to stop riding for some distance approaching and passing the 200 Metres in order to obtain clear running.
He added when GOOD OMEN commenced to give ground after the 200 Metres, he was able to shift BABA MAMA to the inside of STAR MAJESTIC which also at this time shifted out which provided clear running for BABA MAMA.
He said he was then able to place the horse under full pressure and BABA MAMA then closed off the race strongly.
WORLD RECORD, SIR REDALOT and REGENCY BO BO were sent for sampling.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Happy Valley Racemeeting on 31 January 2018 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of WINNING SUPREME, MY GIFT, WONDERFUL CHASER, WINASWEWISH, DARING HEART, WIN FOR CHARITY, MONEY WINNER, APPLAUSE, DR PROACTIVE, THE GOLDEN AGE, DINOZZO, MARVEL HERO, RAZOR QUEST, BULLISH SMART, SUPER FLUKE, CALIFORNIA WHIP, BOLD STITCH and BACK IN BLACK revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of FANTASTIC FABIO, HELEN'S CHOICE, RUGBY DIAMOND, BOND ELEGANCE, HAPPY HAPPY STAR, MI BLANCO, AMAZING RACE, WINNING SUPREME, ELITE BOY, VICTORY FOLLOW ME, FURIOUS PEGASUS, QUICK RETURN, CHATER THUNDER, BEAUTY CONNECTION, PRAWN BABA, GRAN MASTER, ALMABABY, WINNING VANGOGH, FRIENDS OF KA YING, ADE FORTUNE and NUCLEAR POWER (24.1.18) proved negative.

Punted late Sir Redalot took control 150m out after sitting third in the run to add to a November win at the Valley. He'll find it harder at the top of the weights in Class Three or bottom of Class Two when next stepping out. Regency Bo Bo kept on gamely for second after clearing to the front from a wide gate at the 850m. He's as honest as the day is long. Favourite World Record got going after a deep run travelling three deep fifth from the rear to snatch third in the dying stages. He doesn't know how to run a bad race over this trip. Happy Agility lost a placing late after making a steady bid from behind midfield. He needs a stronger rider. Perpetual Treasure kept on all right after dictating the early run. He's showing some positive signs in his past two starts but is usually more effective on the dirt. Baba Mama ran on without menacing travelling towards the rear. Healthy Joyful ran on okay despite covering a tonne of ground near the back.
