Diamond Mysterious just wore down Experto Crede for the win after taking full advantage of a good gate to box-seat in the run. He had put the writing on the wall on opening day and might be able to win another in the grade. Experto Crede jumped alertly to stalk the speed from a tricky gate and wouldn't go away without a fight after moving to the front 280m out carrying top weight. He'll likely return to Class Three off a light weight but it may work in his favour. Well-backed late, Empire Star closed off well from behind midfield. Hopefully, he can go on with it now after showing some potential in his opening two of four runs last term. Let's Take It Easy stayed on well travelling midfield following a sluggish break to finish a distant fourth. It's a vastly improved run on his past nine starts but on his overseas form might be crying out for a wet track. Autopay wouldn't settle on the lead and gave way 150m out. He was a winner waiting to happen late last season.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six: (42) - SUNBIRD HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters

After being loaded into the barriers, LET'S TAKE IT EASY became very fractious and reared on a number of occasions.

Before being allowed to race again, LET'S TAKE IT EASY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial.

LET'S TAKE IT EASY then began only fairly.

AUTOPAY lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected.

Shortly after the start, ROYALE ELEGANCE raced tight between EMPIRE STAR and WINASWEWISH which raced tight inside EXPERTO CREDE.

After this, ROYALE ELEGANCE and WINASWEWISH were shifted across behind runners to obtain a position close to the rail.

From a wide barrier, THE FULL BLOOM was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

AUTOPAY lost its left front plate near the 1300 Metres.

Despite being ridden along in the early stages, GLENEALY PRIZE failed to muster speed and then after the 1200 Metres was shifted across in an attempt to obtain cover, however, was not able to do so and consequently travelled wide and without cover for the majority of the race.

Throughout the early and middle stages, AUTOPAY raced with its head on the side and lay out and then making the turn after the 900 Metres got its head up as its rider attempted to have it remain racing on the rail.

AUTOPAY continued to race with its head on the side and lay out rounding the Home Turn.

After the 1000 Metres, ROYALE ELEGANCE travelled keenly.

After the 500 Metres, DIAMOND MYSTERIOUS was momentarily awkwardly placed inside the heels of AUTOPAY.

Passing the 100 Metres, EMPIRE STAR commenced to shift in under pressure, resulting in its rider changing his whip over into his right hand.

DIAMOND MYSTERIOUS and EXPERTO CREDE were sent for sampling.
