Racing Incident Report
Race Three: (799) - BIG PROFIT HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
VERY RICH MAN was withdrawn on 15.7.17 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by first Standby Declared Starter JOLLY BOUNTIFUL (J Moreira).
AIMING HIGH was also withdrawn on 15.7.17 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by second Standby Declared Starter RICHCITY FORTUNE (B Prebble).
Before being allowed to race again, VERY RICH MAN and AIMING HIGH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
SO GENEROUS began only fairly.
From the outside barriers, GREAT TOPLIGHT and MY GIFT were steadied and shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 750 Metres, JOLLY BOUNTIFUL was awkwardly placed close to the heels of OUR FOLKS.
Passing the 400 Metres, JOLLY BOUNTIFUL was directed in from behind PHANTOM FALCON and OUR FOLKS to obtain clear running.
JOLLY BOUNTIFUL had difficulty obtaining clear running from passing the 200 Metres and approaching the 150 Metres was shifted out away from the heels of RUMINARE.
JOLLY BOUNTIFUL was then badly held up when disappointed for running between RUMINARE and RICHCITY FORTUNE.
Then passing the 100 Metres, JOLLY BOUNTIFUL was shifted to the outside of RICHCITY FORTUNE to obtain clear running.
JOLLY BOUNTIFUL, OUR FOLKS and PHANTOM FALCON were sent for sampling.

Our Folks came on strongly travelling worse than midfield on the fence to take control 100m out for a fourth career win at his 45th start. He had put the writing on the wall in a few earlier runs and the booking of a claimer and a good gate was the right medicine for success. Phantom Falcon eventually got going after making his run just outside the winner to just out-finish favourite Jolly Bountiful for second. He's caught the eye in one start each at both tracks and will be winning races next season over 1,200m and likely further. Jolly Bountiful was unlucky not to have gone closer to winning after having to switch inside for a run at the head of the straight and with no run until the last 100m. He's a bright prospect for next season and will get a further trip as well. Showing Character made some ground from beyond midfield to just finish out of the placings. He's had a good campaign but is likely near his mark. Mordicus only lost a placing late after getting softened on the lead by Ruminare . He's gone a lot better in two of his past three starts.
