Recap by phillip woo

Enjoying the fast pace, favourite Super Turbo came on strongly widest out after a patient ride one off beyond midfield to get up 20m out for a third win from 12 starts. He has more points in hand over this course and distance. Blocker Dee finished well travelling one off worse than midfield to get the bob down for second over Sea Jade to continue his solid form over this Valley trip. Sea Jade chased the runaway leader Premiere, hit the front 200m out and kept on gamely for a placing. He's a track specialist and the 10-pound claimer certainly helped. Verbinsky stayed on well near the inside following a midfield run to fill a Quartet spot. He's racing consistently over this course and on the back of this run might be worth a try over the 1,650m. Hit The Bid was likely suited by the pace when making headway late from near the back. He's on his mark following a win on the dirt in March. Jetwings had his chance but failed to quicken near the inside after a rails run beyond midfield following a sluggish break. He's certainly capable but not reliable. Plunged late, Premiere was stopping badly 150m out after showing terrific gate speed to lead from gate 11. He's clearly better over the 1,000m.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (659)-THE FRANCE GALOP CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 2 - 1200Metres

K C Leung (ROMANTIC CASH) was fined the sum of $2,000 for presenting himself to be weighed out with the incorrect saddle cloth number.

JETWINGS began very awkwardly, shifted out, bumped the hindquarters of SUPER TURBO and lost ground.

On jumping, ROMANTIC CASH and HIT THE BID were crowded for room between PREMIERE and SKY HERO, both of which shifted ground.

SKY HERO lost its left front plate after the 1000 Metres.

Making the turn after the 600 Metres, JETWINGS momentarily raced in restricted room inside BLOCKER DEE.

SEA JADE made the Home Turn awkwardly and lay out.

Throughout the race, SKY HERO travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.

A veterinary inspection of SKY HERO immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.

When questioned, D Whyte stated that JETWINGS did not let down as he thought it would when placed under pressure and over the concluding stages felt short in its action.

A veterinary inspection of JETWINGS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, JETWINGS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

When questioned, Apprentice K K Chiong stated that she had been instructed to ride MOLLY'S JADE STAR in a forward position which is consistent with the manner in which she had previously ridden the horse.

She said however that despite being hard ridden in the early stages MOLLY'S JADE STAR was unable to muster speed, was inclined to lay in and consequently settled back in the field.

She said she chose then to ride in a manner to have the horse balanced and when brought to the outside in the Straight, MOLLY'S JADE STAR finished off the race satisfactorily.

She added after the race she advised the connections that MOLLY'S JADE STAR may now be better suited in races over distances longer than the 1200 Metres of tonight's event.

SUPER TURBO and BLOCKER DEE were sent for sampling.
