Racing Incident Report
Race Ten: (616)-AUDEMARS PIGUET JULES AUDEMARS HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1600Metres
At declaration time, M L Yeung was declared as the rider of both HAPPY PLACE and KEEN VENTURE.It was established that M L Yeung had a firm commitment to ride KEEN VENTURE.
As such, the Stewards permitted C Schofield to be substituted as the rider of HAPPY PLACE.
For this declaration error, M L Yeung was fined $2,000.
DOYENI began only fairly.
HAPPY PLACE and BEAUTY WAY bumped at the start.
From wide barriers, KEEN VENTURE and NASSA were shifted across behind runners to obtain cover in the early stages.
KEEN VENTURE lay out rounding the Home Turn.
For the majority of the race, SEASONS BLOOM travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, Apprentice M F Poon (SIMPLY INVINCIBLE) stated that his mount did not feel comfortable on today's surface as it did not quicken when asked and then gave ground over the latter stages of the race.
A veterinary inspection of SIMPLY INVINCIBLE immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, SIMPLY INVINCIBLE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of SEASONS BLOOM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SEASONS BLOOM, EASTERN EXPRESS and BOOMING DELIGHT were sent for sampling.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Happy Valley Racemeeting on 26 April 2017 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of PLANET GIANT, GARLIC YEAH, KING BOUNTIFUL, BLAZING PASS, EMPIRE STAR, DR RACE, SUNNY ORIENT, YOUNG EMPIRE, SMART SALUTE, AMBITIOUS PINS, CONTRIBUTION, SUM WIN DRAGON, LAND GRANT, GOLDEN SLEEP, MAGICAL BEAUTY, WONDERFUL FIGHTER, PERPETUAL JOYANCE, VICTORY MARVEL and MR GENUINE revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of AUDACITY, TELEPHATIA, MY BLESSING, AGIAAL, EASTERN PROWESS, NASHASHUK, RESPLENDENT GLORY, SHOWING CHARACTER, BEAUTY CONNECTION, MR RIGHT, BEST STEP, GREAT JOY, AMAZING FEELING, MR KOOL, WAYFOONG VINNIE, TRAVEL COMFORTS, CIRCUIT KING, DIAMOND MASTER, ARM RUNDA, ALL GREAT FRIENDS, JADE FORTUNE, CHATER LEGEND and WISKY (20.4.17) proved negative.

Eastern Express hit the front 350m out after sitting on the back of the speed and just held off the surging Booming Delight for a fourth win from 16 starts. He's a good horse fresh off a break. Booming Delight was closing the gap with every stride following a handy run along the fence. He's destined for century rating and is versatile up to 2,000m. Doyeni was eating up the ground late to finish a close third following a patient ride one off travelling worse than midfield in a sterling first run following a year on the sidelines. He's talented but also has bad legs. Nassa was still last approaching the 200m but finished off nicely down the outside. Beauty Way kept up a grinding effort travelling around midfield. On his British form, he certainly wants further than the mile trip. Favourite Seasons Bloom was given no chance by Zac Purton sitting three deep without cover in midfield carrying top weight from a wide gate. You can put a line through this run.
