Raging favourite Nothingilikemore drew clear after sweeping to the front 250m out following a prominent run on the back of a genuine pace to remain unbeaten in four starts. The sky's the limit for him. Jolly Jolly rattled home nicely three from the right after travelled second from the rear from the widest gate to gain the runner-up spot in the final few metres. He was suited by the pace but has been running well in defeat in his past three behind quality types and will be saluting shortly. Pikachu had to settle for third after running on well from a position behind midfield to get to second 120m out. He rarely runs a bad race. Green Card only held his ground over the last 100m after working into a place spot 200m out following a midfield run. It was a decent effort but he does appear to find it too rich at this level.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten: (598)-THE POWER OF MUSIC HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1400Metres

After being loaded into the barriers, SUPER LEADER became fractious and made contact with the front gate.

SUPER LEADER was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.

HANG'S DECISION shifted out at the start and bumped SUPER LEADER.

DRAGON MASTER was crowded for room on jumping between NOTHINGILIKEMORE and BULLISH SMART, both of which shifted ground.

HEALTHY JOYFUL began very awkwardly, shifted out abruptly and hampered BIG FLASH.

After this, HEALTHY JOYFUL was ridden along for a short distance, however, when caught very wide was steadied passing the 1300 Metres and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.

From the outside barrier, JOLLY JOLLY was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

WHO DAT SINGA was also shifted across behind runners to obtain cover in the early stages.

Passing the 1300 Metres, GREEN CARD was momentarily steadied away from the heels of SKY HERO.

Approaching the 1200 Metres, GREEN CARD was awkwardly placed between SUPER LEADER and BULLISH SMART, both of which shifted ground.

After the 900 Metres, PACKING LLAREGYB was left racing wide and without cover.

After the race, O Doleuze (BIG FLASH) stated that stepping up in distance to 1400 Metres he allowed the horse to gradually improve in the early stages to take up a forward position, however, BIG FLASH would not settle as he had hoped and then weakened noticeably in the Straight.

A veterinary inspection of BIG FLASH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of BIG FLASH, a last start winner, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, BIG FLASH will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Also after the race, C Schofield (DRAGON MASTER) reported that his mount did not feel comfortable in its action and became detached from the field.

A veterinary inspection of DRAGON MASTER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of DRAGON MASTER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, DRAGON MASTER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

NOTHINGILIKEMORE and JOLLY JOLLY were sent for sampling.

20 April 2017 Happy Valley Racemeeting - Race 8 (588) The Stewards today questioned Mr Y S Tsui, the trainer of THUNDER STOMP, regarding the instructions he provided to H W Lai in this race.

Mr Tsui stated that when THUNDER STOMP was successful on 22 February 2017 when drawn barrier 1, the horse had to be ridden along vigorously to take advantage of its inside draw.

He said this demonstrated to him that THUNDER STOMP would not have sufficient early speed to cross LAND GRANT in this race as he anticipated that that horse would be ridden in a forward position, therefore he instructed Jockey Lai to obtain a position in about midfield if possible.

He said, apart from when THUNDER STOMP had drawn inside barriers, it had always been his instructions to riders for the horse to be ridden in about a midfield position.

He added when Jockey Lai steadied THUNDER STOMP in the early stages with a view to taking a trailing position behind LAND GRANT, this was in accordance with the manner in which he was instructed to ride the horse.

He said however MY GIFT was able to hold its position one horse off the rail in the early stages which resulted in THUNDER STOMP being left racing wide and he therefore accepted Jockey Lai's decision to further steady THUNDER STOMP with a view to hopefully obtaining a position with cover.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Happy Valley Racemeeting on 20 April 2017 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of AUDACITY, TELEPHATIA, MY BLESSING, AGIAAL, EASTERN PROWESS, NASHASHUK, RESPLENDENT GLORY, SHOWING CHARACTER, MR RIGHT, BEST STEP, GREAT JOY, AMAZING FEELING, MR KOOL, WAYFOONG VINNIE, CIRCUIT KING, DIAMOND MASTER, ARM RUNDA, ALL GREAT FRIENDS, JADE FORTUNE, CHATER LEGEND and WISKY revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of RUGBY DIAMOND, ORIENTAL FANTASIA, SPARKLING TALENT, PRINCE HARMONY, GRACYDAD, VICTORY FOLLOW ME, FORMULA GALORE, SPINNING DANCER, CONTRIBUTION, FINE WITH ME, GAME OF FUN, JUMBO HAPPINESS, PERPETUAL JOYANCE, YOU READS MY MIND, ANDOYAS, HAPPY CONTENDER, HEALTHY LUCK, POWERMAX, WINNER'S WAY and JOLLY BANNER (12.4.17) proved negative.
