Racing Incident Report
Race Seven: (424)-SHAN KWONG HANDICAP - Class 1 - 1650Metres
HARBOUR MASTER and STAR MAJESTIC were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, PACKING LLAREGYB raced tight inside HAPPY SPIRIT which lay in away from SUPER LIFELINE.
Then passing the winning post on the first occasion, HAPPY SPIRIT continued to lay in despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in PACKING LLAREGYB racing tight outside TWIN DELIGHT.
Approaching the 1300 Metres, PACKING LLAREGYB and HAPPY SPIRIT raced tight inside PACKING DRAGON (C Schofield) which shifted in.
C Schofield was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he leaves comfortable racing room for runners on his inside in similar circumstances.
Approaching the 700 Metres, after shifting to the outside of DYNAMISM to improve, HARBOUR MASTER was taken wider by that horse which shifted to the outside of PACKING LLAREGYB.
This resulted in HARBOUR MASTER racing wide and without cover and consequently giving ground in the Straight.
Passing the 700 Metres, BASIC TRILOGY was steadied after attempting to improve into tight running between CIRCUIT LAND and STAR MAJESTIC.
Approaching the 200 Metres, C Schofield dropped his whip.
When questioned, J Moreira stated that after being slow to begin, BASIC TRILOGY, despite being hard ridden for a considerable distance in the early stages, did not show any early speed and consequently raced well back in the field.
He said it was not until the tempo of the race steadied near the 1100 Metres that BASIC TRILOGY was able to travel more comfortably.
He said after being shifted out in to clear running at the top of the Straight, BASIC TRILOGY then finished off the race satisfactorily.
A veterinary inspection of BASIC TRILOGY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
After the race, it was reported that SPEEDY LONGWAH had sustained a small cut to the left hind coronet.
A veterinary inspection of HARBOUR MASTER and HAPPY SPIRIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
BASIC TRILOGY, PACKING DRAGON and CIRCUIT LAND were sent for sampling.

Plunged late, Packing Dragon had to work to land a spot one off in second from a wide gate, rushed to the front 350m out and kept finding to take the Happy Valley Millions Challenge with a win, his third over this course this season. He's a true specialist over this course and is usually better over 1,800m or further. Circuit Land finished strongly after a rails run behind midfield to make it close on the wire. He's got a big heart and the 19- pound swing in the weights was the difference in the end. Dynamism continues to run well without winning over this course when getting going without cover in midfield to snatch third in the final stride. He's always a chance over the mile or 1,800m at this track off a lightweight. Super Lifeline grudgingly gave way after finding the front from a wide gate carrying a featherweight. He's run well in defeat in his three course-and-distance outings this term but doesn't have any points in hand. Packing Llaregyb and Speedy Longwah had their chance following midfield runs and are better suited in a Class Two over an 80-to-100 range. Favourite Basic Trilogy was never a factor after blowing his chance at the start. He's better suited over the 1,800m anyways.
