Racing Incident Report
Race Five: (023)-SHANTOU HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Metres
After being loaded, INVENTION MASTER became fractious, reared and momentarily sat down.INVENTION MASTER was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was suitable to race.
Before being allowed to race again, INVENTION MASTER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
DIVINE DIYA shifted out at the start and bumped EXCELLENCE, resulting in DIVINE DIYA losing ground.
Shortly after the start, SOUL ACHIEVER was steadied and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
GREAT TOPLIGHT travelled keenly in the early stages.
From a wide barrier, FIONN'S CITY was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Despite being aggressively ridden in the early stages, FORTUNE GIGGLES failed to muster speed.
After the 1200 Metres, FIONN'S CITY commenced to prove very difficult to settle and shifted out abruptly away from the heels of SOUL ACHIEVER, resulting in FORTUNE GIGGLES being taken wider.
FIONN'S CITY continued to prove difficult to settle after this and travelled wide and without cover.
Having regard to FIONN'S CITY's previous racing history, the Stewards ruled that prior to being permitted to race again, that horse will be required to barrier trial satisfactorily around a bend.
DIVINE DIYA lost its left front plate passing the 1100 Metres.
Approaching the 500 Metres, EXCELLENCE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of DIVINE DIYA.
Approaching the 300 Metres, EXCELLENCE shifted out and bumped PACKING STARCRAFT.
INVENTION MASTER was unable to obtain clear running from the 300 Metres until passing the 150 Metres at which time the horse was shifted out across the heels of MAGNETISM to obtain clear running.
Throughout the race, CHEERFUL FRAME travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of LONDON CITY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
REWARDING FLYER and MAGNETISM were sent for sampling.

Rewarding Flyer assumed the front from 300m out after stalking the leader from a wide gate and repelled a stiff challenge from Magnetism over the final 200m. He had put the writing on the wall in July. He's matured and can chalk up another. Magnetism had his chance following a prominent trip but was giving the winner 16 pounds. Invention Master was finishing full of run from midfield and would have gobbled them up if the race was 10m longer. He appears to have turned the corner. Great Toplight made a steady bid without menacing. Packing Starcraft got going from behind midfield to only gain a minor cheque. He needed the outing. Snow Slider disappointed following a box-seat run. London City knocked up badly despite enjoying a soft time on the lead. Fortune Giggles never let down despite a tonne of money for him late.
