Well-tried debutant Call Me Handsome improved to settle midfield three off the stands side 650m out after breaking a bit tardily from a middle gate, switched off a wall of horses for a clear run 250m out and finished willingly to get up in the final few metres. He appears one that will get further in time. Cheer Win was prominent in the run in the middle of the course, worked to the lead 150m out and found one just too good in the end in a smart debut. Favourite Arm Runda jumped sideways at the break, didn't gain a run until the 150m following a handy run two off the outside rails and finished off nicely thereafter to fill a placing. Sea Jade sat between the leaders one off the grandstand side, advanced to the front 500m out and found a few too good in the drive to the wire. Newcomer Ambitious Heart grudgingly gave way after leading for the most part from a middle gate. Gainfuljet only held his ground after being hard ridden to hold his ground underneath Arm Runda. Second favourite Look Eras came up one paced after recovering from a sluggish break to travel fore of midfield on the wrong side of the track.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (706)-BALSAMINE PLATE - Griffin Race - 1000Metres

LOOK ERAS and CALL ME HANDSOME began only fairly.

THE CHAMP shifted out at the start, resulting in AUDACITY being taken out onto CARRY TO WIN.

ARM RUNDA shifted in abruptly at the start, resulting in AMRITSARIA being inconvenienced and BUMBLE BABY being bumped and taken in onto GAINFULJET.

Near the 950 Metres, BUMBLE BABY was steadied away from the heels of ARM RUNDA when taken out by GAINFULJET which, after being bumped by SEA JADE, then shifted out away from that horse.

THE CHAMP raced greenly in the early stages and shifted ground on a number of occasions.

In the early stages, BUMBLE BABY raced greenly and lay out and near the 700 Metres got its head on the side and shifted out away from CALL ME HANDSOME, resulting in AMRITSARIA being crowded for room.

ARM RUNDA was badly held up for clear running after passing the 300 Metres and then approaching the 200 Metres was shifted in across the heels of SEA JADE to obtain clear running.

When shifted in, ARM RUNDA bumped the hindquarters of AMBITIOUS HEART and then for a short distance had further difficulty obtaining clear running between AMBITIOUS HEART and SEA JADE.

Passing the 300 Metres, CALL ME HANDSOME became unbalanced of its own accord and then after this raced tight outside STRATHCLYDE which was awkwardly placed outside the heels of SEA JADE which shifted out.

A veterinary inspection of LOOK ERAS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

ARM RUNDA, CALL ME HANDSOME and CHEER WIN were sent for sampling.
