Racing Incident Report
Race Ten: (574)-THE AGE-FRIENDLY SOCIETY HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Metres
As the start was effected, WHY WHY lifted its front feet off the ground and consequently was slow to begin.Before being allowed to race again, WHY WHY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
SILLY BUDDIES began only fairly.
From a wide barrier, WINSTON'S LAD was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
For the majority of the race, PRINCIPAL travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.
The performance of PRINCIPAL, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, PRINCIPAL will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of COUNTRY MELODY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.
A veterinary inspection of PABLOSKY, SILLY BUDDIES and PRINCIPAL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS and KEY WITNESS were sent for sampling.
GENERAL:
1.
Races 7 & 8 were each put back 5 minutes.
2.
After the running of Race 2, the track classification was officially changed from "Good" to "Good to Firm".
This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.
As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 2 being run on a track rated "Good to Firm".

Additional Veterinary Reports from Happy Valley Racemeeting on 13 April 2016 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of GIDDY GIDDY, HIGHLAND DRAGON, EXTREMELY FUN, WAH MAY BABY, FAIRY TWINS, NITRO EXPRESS, VICTORY BOYS, MR VANILLA, WHO'STHEDUDE, TOM'S CHARM, THE SYLPH, BACK IN BLACK, ALL GREAT FRIENDS, SMART DECLARATION, GRACE HEART, JUN HUO, PIKACHU, MAGICAL BEAUTY, RED MARVEL and FORMULA WON revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of MODERN FORTUNE, BEAR RAPPER, DIAMOND MYSTERIOUS, SMART PLANET, MY CUP OVERFLOWS, COMMANDANT, PABLOSKY, PACKING LLAREGYB, EXPEDITE, HO LEE HORSE, SEMPITERNAL, SURE PEACE, SICHUAN VIGOUR, PERPETUAL TREASURE, NORTHERN FALLS, HIT THE BID, ELITE SPIRIT, OUR FOLKS and GOOD LUCK BOY (6.4.16) proved negative.

Favourite Washington Heights was nicely positioned one off the fence with cover in fifth, rounded the final bend five deep, swept to the front 50m out and held off a late surge from Key Witness to chalk up a second win from three starts. Key Witness finished nicely after switching into the open six deep upon straightening following a rails run worse than midfield. Go Baby Go set a steady pace on the lead, cornered three lengths on top and found a couple too smart in the run to the wire. Secret Command got going late without three wider out following a one-off run behind midfield to snatch fourth on the wire from Our Folks who kept on all right after punching the breeze in second from a wide gate. Why Why made some ground late after badly missing the kick. Specked late, My Little Friend ran on steadily without menacing after a rails run travelling behind midfield. Winston's Lad was getting going late down the outside when the race was all but over after making his run third from the rear from a wide gate. Country Melody was stopping 150m out after covering ground near the speed without cover from a wide gate.
