Racing Incident Report
Race Six: (108)-THE HONG KONG COUNTRY CLUB CHALLENGE CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 3 - 1650Metres
Shortly after the start, NOBLE DELUXE and FIRST SIGHT LOVE raced in restricted room between STAR OF BOND and TRENDY WIN which shifted out.From wide barriers, ROYAL PARTNER and GREAT CHARM were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners to obtain a position with cover.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, SPEEDY LONGWAH was awkwardly placed close to the heels of TRENDY WIN when being shifted in to obtain a trailing position behind that horse.
Making the turn after the 600 Metres, SPEEDY LONGWAH and ROYAL PARTNER bumped as SPEEDY LONGWAH attempted to shift out from behind TRENDY WIN.
Rounding the Home Turn, I'M THE WON FOR U and ROYAL PARTNER were checked when crowded for room between FLYING CHAPARRAL which shifted in slightly and SPEEDY LONGWAH which, when improving to the outside of TRUMP, was taken out by that horse which shifted ground when being checked away from the heels of both ROBUST MOMENTUM and STAR OF BOND.
As the Stewards were satisfied that there was no carelessness involved with this incident, no further action was taken.
After the 300 Metres, FIRST SIGHT LOVE got its head on the side and hung out under pressure and passing the 200 Metres raced tight inside ROYAL PARTNER.
The performances of I'M THE WON FOR U and ROBUST MOMENTUM, which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, I'M THE WON FOR U and ROBUST MOMENTUM will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of ROYAL PARTNER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of FIRST SIGHT LOVE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.
SPEEDY LONGWAH and GREAT CHARM were sent for sampling.

Favourite Speedy Longwah was patiently-ridden in midfield despite plenty going on around him 600m out, rounded the final bend six deep and quickened nicely to get up 100m out for a third win from eight starts over this Valley trip. Great Charm came from a distant last near the inside to grab second 20m out. He's not far off a winning run. Beauty Lead saved ground in midfield, swept to the front 150m out and found a couple too good in the end. Star Of Bond held a position on the back of the speed after handing up the lead to Robust Momentum 1,000m out, reclaimed the front 250m out and was tippy-toeing 100m out. Trendy Win settled one off the fence in fifth, rushed forward forward to poke his head in front coming at the top of the straight and was one-paced over the last 100m. He was in need of this run. Trump was giving ground 200m out following a prominent run along the fence. Royal Partner made a move from near the back 600m out to sit midfield coming to the final bend, swung the final bend widest out and never was a factor. First Sight Love came up flat in the final 150m out.
