Brilliant Proposal led from a good gate, cornered two lengths on top and kept finding to score easily. Punted late, Sight Believer was handy along the rails, straightened four deep and got up 150m out for second. Excel Onself went back from a wide gate, pushed out very deep upon straightening and rattled home to make it close for second. Winfull Patrol travelled with cover two-to-three deep in midfield, rounded the final bend six deep and stayed on well to just finish out of the placings. Beauty Kingdom tacked on to travel worse than midfield along the rails at the 800m following a slow break, straightened three deep and kept on reasonably well. He's produced two positive runs over the 1,000m at both courses and is crying out for a longer sprint. Fish N' Chips stayed on better after a box-seat run. Favourite St Yazin settled third from the rear and one off the rails, swung the final bend with two wider out and made some ground without threatening. Fun 'N'Games tracked the leader one off in second, straightened one off the fence and was stopping 150m out. Travel Comforts struggled coming to the final bend after travelling keenly to the outside of Sight Believer. Brillante was posted deep without cover in a prominent spot from a wide gate and was empty at the 200m.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (541)-MAN CHEUNG HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Metres

BEAUTY KINGDOM was slow to begin.

On jumping, TRIUMPHANT JEWEL (M L Yeung) was crowded for room between EXCEL ONESELF and BRILLANTE which shifted out.

M L Yeung stated that it had been intended for the horse to be ridden behind the leaders if possible from its wide barrier.

He said however that after being bumped by BRILLANTE on jumping, the horse, despite being vigorously ridden, did not muster speed and then appeared to lose interest as it did not respond to his riding at any stage of the race.

A veterinary inspection of TRIUMPHANT JEWEL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of TRIUMPHANT JEWEL, which finished last, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, TRIUMPHANT JEWEL will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

From the outside barrier, EXCEL ONESELF was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

FAST MARVEL was also taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

Near the 950 Metres, ST YAZIN was shifted out away from the heels of WINFULL PATROL which shifted out after being bumped by TRAVEL COMFORTS which was taken out by FUN 'N' GAMES.

Passing the 700 Metres, TRAVEL COMFORTS, which was over-racing, raced tight between SIGHT BELIEVER and BRILLANTE (A Suborics) which shifted in when not clear.

In this incident, SIGHT BELIEVER became unbalanced after being bumped by TRAVEL COMFORTS.

A Suborics was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he leaves comfortable racing room for runners to his inside in similar circumstances.

Making the turn after the 600 Metres, BEAUTY KINGDOM was steadied away from the heels of SIGHT BELIEVER which got its head on the side and lay in.

Also making the turn after the 600 Metres, TRAVEL COMFORTS, which was having its first race start in Hong Kong, lost ground after hanging out across the heels of BRILLANTE.

Near the 550 Metres, FAST MARVEL and ST YAZIN raced tight.

EXCEL ONESELF lay in under pressure over the final 100 Metres.

Over the concluding stages, ST YAZIN was awkwardly placed inside the heels of EXCEL ONESELF and consequently was not able to be fully tested all the way to the line.

Throughout the race, BRILLANTE travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of TRAVEL COMFORTS and BRILLANTE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

ST YAZIN, BRILLIANT PROPOSAL and SIGHT BELIEVER were sent for sampling.
