Luger settled ahead of midfield and one off the rails, rallied five deep upon straightening, hit the straight 150m out and shook off a challenge 100m out from Arpinati to put himself back into the Derby picture. Favourite Arpinati travelled midfield near the rails, rounded the final bend with two wider out and finished well to be a clear second. Santa Fe Sun travelled second from the rear, swung the final bend widest out and just out-finished Romantic Touch for a placing. It was a big run on the back of a soft pace Romantic Touch settled fourth from the back and three deep from a wide gate, turned the final bend two from the right and was doing some nice work late. Gurus Dream travelled along the rails in midfield, pushed out six deep soon after straightening and ran on steadily without menacing. Punted late, Full Talent made his run outside Luger from a tricky gate, swung the final bend to that one's outside and kept on evenly over the final 200m. What You Dream was tight between runners four-to-five deep mid-straight while making progress third from the back.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten: (400)-SILENT WITNESS HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1600Metres

On entering the track, ANDOYAS became fractious, resulting in T H So, its rider, being dislodged.

ANDOYAS then galloped riderless for a considerable distance.

Acting on veterinary advice that ANDOYAS was not suitable to race, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.

Before being allowed to race again, ANDOYAS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

From wide barriers, SANTA FE SUN and ROMANTIC TOUCH were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

K Teetan (SICHUAN VIGOUR) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 850 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of ROYAL PARTNER, causing that horse to be checked and to lose the running to which it was rightfully entitled.

K Teetan was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday, 9 March 2015 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).

The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday, 1 March 2015.

In assessing penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey Teetan's good race riding record.

At the 300 Metres, ENTHUSIASM was shifted to the outside of SICHUAN VIGOUR to obtain clear running.

Passing the 200 Metres, WHAT YOU DREAM raced tight inside GURUS DREAM which got its head on the side and shifted in away from FULL TALENT.

LUGER and ARPINATI were sent for sampling.

GENERAL:

After the running of Race 2, the track classification was officially changed from "Good to Firm" to "Good".

This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.

As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 2 being run on a track rated "Good".

Races 7 - 10 were each put back 5 minutes.
