Recap by phillip woo

Secret Sham was well rated on the front, cornered just over a length on top and kept up a good gallop to just hold favourite Dundonnell for the win. Dundonnell settled fourth and one off the rails, cornered four deep and was doing some fine work late to make it close on the wire. Kabayan travelled midfield along the rails after a slow break, then was held up behind runners until switching off the heels of Dundonnell at the 150m and finished willingly thereafter. He should have gone close to winning with an unimpeded run. Tour De Force came up one-paced over the final 100m after punching the breeze in second. Gurus Dream was not suited by the early pace, but did eventually get going down the outside from the tail of the field. Wonderful Moments was disappointing after enjoying the box-seat run. Backed late, What You Dream never was a factor after travelling second from the rear. He, too, was at the mercy of the pace, but is clearly a better miler. Packing Whiz had another dud after travelling outside Kabayan.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (321)-HAU WONG HANDICAP - Class 1 - 1400Metres

When being led up to load into the barriers, DUNDONNELL became fractious and pulled away from the starting gate handler.

DUNDONNELL was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.

KABAYAN was slow to begin and then shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of GURUS DREAM which jumped inwards.

PACKING WHIZ began only fairly.

After the 600 Metres, PACKING WHIZ was awkwardly placed close to the heels of DUNDONNELL.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that PACKING WHIZ had bled from both nostrils.

A veterinary inspection of WHAT YOU DREAM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SECRET SHAM and DUNDONNELL were sent for sampling.
