CarpetBuyer at Horizon Plaza has over 5,000 pieces of traditional and contemporary items in store.

One of the easiest ways to change the feel or look of a home is by using floor textiles. Doing so can immediately add character to a room, especially one with a wooden or tiled floor. This may explain the success of one of Asia’s largest carpet dealers, CarpetBuyer.

Dating back to 1967, CarpetBuyer started as a family business on Wyndham Street and, more than 35 years later, Nadeem Butt launched his family’s venture as the first CarpetBuyer store at Horizon Plaza. From this location, the store caters to local appetites for designer carpets. The showroom has over 5,000 pieces of traditional and contemporary items.

European and American products – created by private designers for individual clients, rather than for the mass market – have always been popular, and played an important role in the early days of the business, as it was gaining traction, CarpetBuyer says.

These days, the store houses carpets from all over the world – from contemporary designer rugs, to classic Persian carpets, to shaggy rugs.
