Once overlooked, Hong Kong’s kitchens are getting the attention they deserve through clever use of space and design.

It’s no secret that Hongkongers aren’t a cooking bunch. We’re more likely to know the name of a restaurant that opened just last week, than the price of meat and vegetables at the supermarket.

In fact, if there was one space in the house that some of the city’s residents are willing to forgo, it is the kitchen. Yet, with Covid-19 forcing us to stay at home, people are rethinking how they want to use their kitchens.

According to Aaron Chin, CEO of The Editors Company, homeowners are paying more attention to their kitchens – whether it is the way they organise or redesign it, it has begin to play a more central role in their homes.
