The father, from Shah Alam, outside Kuala Lumpur in central Malaysia, released a video of himself burning the motorbike on TikTok. The video has been viewed over one million times.

According to the local media outlet Sin Chew Daily, the father, whose name has not been revealed, bought the motorcycle for his son because he thought it would be more convenient for him to ride it to school.

However, the father discovered that his son, whose age was not reported, had become addicted to riding the motorcycle. He often took part in motorbike races and returned home very late in the evening, prompting safety concerns from his father.

The father tried to persuade his son not to race his bike, but his advice fell on deaf ears.

Feeling desperate, the father made the drastic decision to burn the motorcycle, believing it was a better fate than his son dying in an accident.
