Bossini heiress tells her tale as mainland gangster admits to her kidnapping

A Hong Kong clothing chain heiress at the centre of the most high-profile kidnap the city has seen in recent years says “positive thinking” helped her survive the four-day ordeal of being held in a dank, remote cave with the constant threat of being killed hanging over her head.
After a guilty plea was entered yesterday by the only member of the kidnap gang to face justice in Hong Kong, the South China Morning Post can report the contents of an exclusive interview with Queenie Rosita Law, the 29-year-old granddaughter of late Bossini founder Law Ting-pong, which took place four months after she was freed in April last year upon a HK$28 million ransom paid by her father.
Law revealed that the ordeal had turned her life upside down, characterising the effect it has had as a “180-degree change” , adding that in the immediate aftermath of the kidnap she couldn’t leave her home because of the trauma she had suffered.
“It took me nearly a month to recover at home,” she said.
“It’s as if I fell asleep for a whole month. It passed so fast that I was totally unaware. I hadn’t expected a 180-degree change in my life.”
