Brij Bhushan Singh, who is also a lawmaker for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has been accused by Olympic medallists and other Indian wrestlers of groping female athletes and demanding sexual favours.

“The court imposed several conditions while granting bail,” ANI television reported, including that the accused will not “directly or indirectly” induce complainants or witnesses, and will not leave the country without the court’s permission.

The next hearing in the case will take place on July 28, ANI reported.

Singh, 66, denies all charges and has said he was a victim of a “conspiracy”.

Six female wrestlers lodged a complaint against Singh for alleged sexual harassment and intimidation during training camps and international competitions.
