World’s largest fancy intense pink diamond to go on auction for up to US$30 million
The 37.3ct rare ‘Raj Pink’ is estimated to fetch US$30 million at Sotheby’s in Geneva
Diamond lovers, pay heed! “The Raj Pink” – the world’s largest known fancy intense pink diamond – will be auctioned at Sotheby’s sale of Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels in Geneva on November 15. The rare 37.3ct diamond is estimated to fetch US$20 to US$30 million.

The rough diamond that yielded The Raj Pink was studied for more than a year after its discovery in 2015. It was then entrusted to a master cutter, who brought the diamond’s innermost beauty to full display by crafting it into a sparkling cushion-modified brilliant cut.
The Raj Pink was named by the current owner of the diamond, who wishes to remain anonymous. It is based on the Sanskrit word for “king”.
“The discovery of any pink diamond is exceptional, but the Raj Pink’s remarkable size and intensity of colour places it in the rarefied company of the most important pink diamonds known,” says David Bennett, worldwide chairman of Sotheby’s International Jewellery Division.
The diamond will be on exhibition in London, Singapore, Hong Kong (October 23 and 24), Taiwan and New York before landing in Geneva.
