K-pop star’s dancing skills and ability to hit high notes are considered impressive even for trained artists in South Korea

Rising K-pop girl group BLACKPINK continues to break sales records, as well as YouTube and streaming records. Being at the top of iTunes charts in more than 18 countries and reaching 620 million views with the hit single Ddu-Du Ddu-Du, BLACKPINK’s Rose is taking her music and dancing talent to a wider audience.

Early life

 

Born in Auckland, New Zealand in 1997, she was raised in Melbourne, Australia from the age of seven. She was only 15 when YG Entertainment discovered her talent at an audition in Melbourne. After training for 4 years and two months, Rose Park Chae-young joined BLACKPINK.

She was a cheerleader at high school and sang in church choirs

Being the group’s lead dancer with a sweet, dreamy voice, her dancing skills and ability to hit high notes are considered impressive even for trained artists in South Korea.
