Connection with fans
The star held a special “farewell to 20s” exhibition on December 29-30, 2018. Titled “Made in #ChoiSooYoung, The Shining scenerY”, it showcased photographs and videos documenting significant moments in her life and career, giving her fans an intimate insight into their idol.
Charity work
Sooyoung actively campaigns to promote awareness about retinitis pigmentosa, a genetic disorder that can cause loss of vision. Her clothing label, Beaming Effect, holds an annual charity bazaar that channels all profits to the Korean Foundation Fighting Blindness.
In 2018, she featured in a special fashion photo shoot in the February issue of 1st Look magazine – she was part of the designing and styling processes. She collaborated with stylist Seo Soo Kyung for the collection. All proceeds from the sale of the outfits went to the cause.
