In a move that’s surprising only in that it’s taken so long, say hello to the first official Game of Thrones high jewellery collection. Created by Fabergé in partnership with Michele Clapton, the show’s costume designer, it is being unveiled over the next two years in a series of “chapters”, the first of which, Chapter One: Dragon, was recently unveiled at an event in Dubai. It consists of five pieces, each in a limited edition of 10, that reflect the distinctive aesthetic of one of the series’ most memorable characters, Daenerys Targaryen.

Consisting of pendants, earrings and a choker ear cuff combo, they combine deep red rubies from Mozambique with white gold, rose gold, diamonds and black rhodium. Fabergé’s Game of Thrones collaboration began in 2021 with one of the brand’s iconic eggs, which sold for a cool US$2.2 million.

Think of Switzerland and two things that likely come to mind are impeccable watches and skiing in the Alps. Combining the two was always going to result in some kind of luxury alchemy – and so watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen and ski brand The Faction Collective have proved in launching Faction Studio 1 IWC Collab to turn out limited edition skis and a matching watch.

With just 55 pairs planned, in sizes of 171cm x 25cm and 178cm x 30cm, the freestyle skis are the first that Faction – brand of choice for double Olympic gold medallist Eileen Gu, no less – has made with any kind of luminescent design. Finished with white-on-white lettering that glows green in the dark, they read “IWC Lake Tahoe”.

Buying the skis unlocks an option to purchase the watchmaker’s Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Top Gun Edition in a special white ceramic “Lake Tahoe” version.
