For a cool US$3.4 million, the Italian Sea Group and Automobili Lamborghini have developed a limited edition motor yacht inspired by the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 – order now, delivery next year

WHAT: Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63

HOW MUCH: HK$26 million (US$3.4 million)

WHY: City traffic getting you down? Never have the chance to show what your hypercar can do? Lamborghini might have a solution: take the marque to the water. For a cool US$3.4 million, the Italian Sea Group and Automobili Lamborghini have developed a limited edition motor yacht inspired by the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37, which will be available at the beginning of 2021.

At 63 feet long (19 metres) and weighing only 24 tons, the Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 is classed as an ultralight boat. All the same, it packs plenty of Lamborghini’s design heritage along with technical innovations from the Sián FKP 37.

Start with the engineering. The Sián is the marque’s first V12-engined hybrid sports car based on supercapacitors. Its seafaring sibling is not a hybrid, but boasts twin MAN V12-2000 diesels – the only 12-cylinder V-engine in the yacht sector that can generate 2,000hp. As a result, the 63 will be the fastest yacht in the Tecnomar fleet, able to reach a staggering 60 knots.

In addition to its length, the “63” in the boat’s name refers to the year Automobili Lamborghini was established. Indeed, the design lines of the 63 were originally created by Marcello Gandini, one of the world’s most important car designers and forefather of the Lamborghini aesthetic. The 63 references Gandini’s designs for the Lamborghini Miura and the Countach, cars of the 60s and 70s.

As with any Lamborghini product, you can expect a super sporty silhouette, with the yacht’s hard top inspired by a Lamborghini roadster. The 63 also possesses the archetypal lightweight carbon fibre body and Lamborghini’s carbon skin, used in the sports seats and on the helm (featuring a practically identical Lamborghini sports car steering wheel). The distinctive start and stop buttons are also the same as those used in the marque’s supercars.
