Famous son Michael Douglas might have been the one who broke the tragic news of his father’s death, but like his three brothers, he won’t inherit a cent of daddy’s money

The world said goodbye to an icon of Hollywood this month, Kirk Douglas, when the legendary actor died on February 5, at the age of 103. One of the last surviving faces of the industry’s Golden Age, the quintessential leading man had a career that spanned six decades in front of the camera.

Douglas was so much a part of the film industry that all four of his sons – the most famous of whom, Michael, announced his father’s passing – landed up working in Tinseltown in some capacity.

However, it wasn’t just the film industry that Douglas left his mark on. He was also an author, a blogger and a keen philanthropist. He and his wife, Anne Buydens, have donated to numerous non-profit organisations over the years.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Douglas was worth an estimated US$60 million at the time of his death – but he won’t be leaving any of his fortune to his famous children.
