Greta Thunberg spoke on Tuesday at this year’s WEF on the urgent need to address climate change, and was swiftly branded a ‘prophet of doom’ by Donald Trump; away from the conferences, here’s a look at what the rich and famous are getting up to

The World Economic Forum is taking place in Davos, Switzerland. The theme for the WEF 2020 is “Stakeholders for a Cohesive and Sustainable World”, with a focus on renewing the concept of stakeholder capitalism to overcome income inequality, societal division and the climate crisis.

The US President Donald Trump escaped his impeachment trial, and flew to the Swiss Alps for the economic conferences.

More than 100 billionaires are expected to be present during the next few days, and all hotels in and around Davos have been booked out for months. So where do the rich and famous stay? The US president has his own luxurious floor at the InterContinental which has been built for this event. Locals have dubbed the hotel “the golden egg”.

Other properties are also occupied by industry movers and shakers, such as the Steigenberger Grandhotel and the Seehof Hotel, both of which combine traditional Swiss charm of a grand hotel with the comfort of a modern building. And the Grischa Hotel which offers personified service, contemporary hotel rooms, a traditional and avant-garde inspired restaurant paired with a comfortable bar next to a rustic fireplace decorated with the antlers of a stag.
